Question is, if these are the specs, is it just to run FFXIV comfortably, or the minimum you need? If it's the recommended requirements, I think I'll be OK. If not, I'm gonna need to upgrade my graphic's card, maybe (NVidia GeForce 8500GT w/ 256MB). D:

these are minimum specs. but bear in mind they're minimum specs for an Alpha, so they have yet to optimize hardware yet.
furthermore you can kinda tell. no one would recommend a Core 2 Duo for a game that releases today.

In that case, I'll probably have to upgrade my Graphics card, and possibly add a bit more RAM. Everything else seems fine. :D

It's not ok to post this.

SE has clearly stated that any information about the Alpha/Beta is classified and not to be leaked.

I would recommend deleting this thread to be on the safe side.

There was a huge debate about this from my understanding. The mods decided to post stuff unless SE tells them to stop.

Oh f***... Guess I have to build a new computer myself, oh well was planning on doing so but most of that equipment in there is just the bare minimum of what I have in my computer. 2GB of RAM and 512MB ATI GPU isn't going to be enough a , the HDD is absolutely fine, Broadband is a 20mb connection so fine there as well.

Those Specs look kinda low for FFXIV then again it is using only DX9.

when they started to develop the game proper these were up in the "big honking rig" range of stats.

These are system specs. To say that it's not allowed to give those out would leave those selected completely in the dark about what kind of PC to build, as well as give them time to build it. Not everyone has a take-home that can allow the complete purchase of a PC if done piece-meal (the proper way to build a PC). These are just system specs, too, not programming code or service details. I don't see the harm at all.

i wonder when we will get specs...probably around the time we get a concrete street date...

i'll probably try to overshoot 14, so i can be decent for diablo 3/not need a whole new computer -.-;;
