Well, first off, Store TP +5 is effectively a free strike on your way to 100% TP. It's not critically important, since so much of Monk damage comes from normal strikes and the nature of double weapons (meaning Hand-to-Hand), Double Attack, and Kick Attacks practically guarantees a certain amount of overflow, but it is helpful. The 5 DEX and 5 STR on their face don't seem all that impressive, but with so many other ways to compensate for Accuracy, losing 2-3 Accuracy from a standard Sniper's Ring is actually rather nominal and (this is the important part) the 5 STR is a bigger boost to damage than any other option Monk can equip in ring form. The 6 Attack on Lava's/Kusha's is completely negligible, since one should be striving to have backline buffs and Marinara Pizza +1 (at minimum) active, whereas 5 STR works out to at least 1 base damage gained. Monk, more than almost any other job, benefits strongly from gaining base damage (exactly because so much of Monk damage is from normal swings instead of weaponskills).

Moreover, the sheer amount of time and effort devoted to getting Lava's and Kusha's Ring is simply not an effective use of time. There's pretty much no reason anyone should have Sattva Ring these days and Tamas Ring has always been a rather marginal option reserved exclusively for mage-only players. If you have a Rajas Ring, you should be wearing it on any job that melees. If you have a job that melees, you should have Rajas Ring. It's pretty much as simple as that.

Good enough. Thank you for actually going over something, I hate how many people say a fact, without any evidence contributed to prove it so. As for the difficulty in getting the rings, I got both a while back rather quickly with my THF (TH3) It's certainly not overly difficult to get them. One reason I'm considering a Toreador / Rajas build though more then ever, was so I can use Toreador + 50 JSE MNK ring for Counter build, or even Jelly ring. Either way, I'd need a solid stand alone ring.
