Yes, I didn't update my status. This was before I realized that your "pet" had to do the killing. The game nor does wiki state that (unless you're looking at the chart that breaks down all the trials). Now that I know my pet has to get the killing blow, it's moved much smoother.♦

Before anyone asks why I made this one instead of Garuda staff, the possible new BPs in the future may make Garuda not as great. Fenrir will remain cheap and the best meleer in general. Should work on Cure staff in the near future as the next one.

Also, the -4 perp does NOT need weather. Just needs the avatar's element.

What exactly do you mean by this? Meaning if I summon Fenrir or Diabolos I'm going to get the effect, or I have to have dark weather, darksday, or a SCH ability?

The Dark Element Affinity on the staff means Fenrir and Diabolos get -4 perp since they are Dark. You do NOT need dark weather or darksday for the effect

Just a little note for those getting more than one Staff. Remember that every elemental staff is called a Teiwaz. This means if you manage to get:

Regular macros or Spellcast won't be able to tell the difference in which staff you you'd to use. Example being, I want to nuke with the first staff. The game can't read augments, so you could end up equipping the -4 Dark perp staff instead.

Bottom line is, there is no way to "auto-swap" these staffs if you're going to use multiple versions of it. If you're planning on using your SMN at an end game event and swapping between avatars constantly. Then bring the one Teiwaz that you think you'll use the most. Otherwise, keep them in your mog satched and pull out the one you'll need for whatever it is you're doing and put the others away.

If real question, the why wouldn't you want -perp gear?! With that "statement" why even bother bringing along elemental staves (for those with out Bahamut's Staff). It doesn't matter what your using your SMN for. HNMs, Sky gods, ZNMs, VNMs, the key is MP management. Period. The longer you can hold onto your MP the more efficient you are. The more efficient you are with your MP the more you can do before, and even without resting.

That, and the -4 perp was just an example... The point is the system can't read Augments.

you will equp the one you dont have on atm

so if you have the prep-4 one on you will equp the MAB but if you have 3 you dont know wha tof the other 2 you will equp IFF it works like arrows lol

No idea why I'm still trying to make this point but I'll put in one last attempt.

Staves:
B.staff
Teiwaz (+7 Magic att)
Teiwaz (Cure potency +15%)

My idle Weapon:
B.staff

I summon Garuda.

Macro 1 - Wing Blade
/equip Main "Teiwaz"

Garuda uses Wing Blade.

Idle staff back on.

Now, which staff did the system equip for Wing Blade?

That is the main problem : the staff chosen will be random.
Moreover, If you have already a Teiwaz equipped, you will have the error message "cannot equip at this time" (or something like this, I don't remember the exact message).

I had same problem with Fay Crozier. I had to choose one, and only one, to make.

In case I missed it

I checked my -4 Fenrir staff and there are two new trials:

200 slime kills with xp using Fenrir
250 raptor kills with xp using Fenrir

Gives -5 perp cost to dark type. Was a diff name and the icon looked like hope staff, forgot what it was called right now. It was level 80.
