Seems like this will come a lot sooner than the 5 year wait that Alex/Odin was.

and we're guaranteed to get substantial new abilities thru BP additions in the upcoming level cap releases.

My bet is that we will get more than one avatar... but maybe only 1 that is perpetuable. The other(s) will probably be Astral Flow avatars similar to Odin/Alex.

I'd place the same on the Astrals... But Cait I just don't see happening myself. I'm still behind in WotG a few updates (working on catching up.) but she seems different.

My bets on perpetuation avatars are more enfeebling minded avatars that aren't as much about direct DD but enhancements and enfeebles like Sylph, Siren, and Catoplepas/Shoat.

Also, I dream of the Zodiac Espers.

I dunno about Cait Sith being an avatar for the end user. He is an avatar that summons. Not ruling him out entirely but he would be the first avatar that is a summoner.. which could lead to interesting blood pacts. I do see Atomos being an Avatar in the similar vein as Alexander and Odin. Using spoiler in case people haven't experienced the fight against him.

His draining of attributes and giving them to his summoner move is ridiculous and should only be used as a two hour.

Considering we SMNs don't really use stats for anything I don't see why Atomos would have that ability nor why it'd need to be locked to Astral Flow.
As it is I can see Cait Sith (assuming she is an avatar) and possibly Atomos as normal avatars.
As an expansion of the "new" summoning way I can see Phoenix with Rebirth Flame ( fire damage to nearby enemies and AoE Raise effect with removal of exp penalty, probably casted on dead players) at level 85 and Bahamut with his Megaflare at 99. Bahamut though should break the 9999 damage cap that Odin has on all enemies and not based on HP%.
I kinda like the way this could go because we'd be able to get lots of amazing abilities, even if only through Astral Flow.
Cait Sith, if she is an avatar, could be a new Carbuncle. I'd love to run around with her every once in a while. Just add Cait Sith boots as a reward somewhere that halve her perp. cost
Bahamut is the easiest to implement considering we already have a quest with his whisper as reward, they'll just need to make him available and reduce his size a bit.
Knowing SE you'll probably have to get the whisper to access a new battlefield though, hopefully a solo battle against the ultimate avatar. That would be sweet.
Keep locking the new avatars to levels please SE, I was extremely happy when I found out that Alexander and Odin can only be summoned at 75. Gives us something to look forward to other than merit BPs.
We should probably speculate on which abilities our current avatars will get before anything else lol. I can see a Healing Ruby III in the horizon but I'm hoping for more buffs as well.
Diabolos has Cacodemonia still locked and Fenrir has an animation for something that even Fenrir Prime can't use. But other than that they'll have to come up with completely new animation and abilities which is interesting. We may see something starting with June.

What would be the difference if they could be summoned at level 1? They'd be so comparatively weak and inaccurate that they wouldn't be worth using, meaning you'd be looking forward to level 75 for them to be good. I'm assuming you're probably already level 75, so honestly the level requirement has absolutely no effect on you and you just like it because it makes new summoners wait until 75 to try them out, regardless of when they unlock them. That's just silly.

Screw new summons. I want things like the ability to tell my avatars to not fuck off after something that has hate on me. Perhaps even put that behavior in avatar's favor as a default. How about release aggro. WHY DO WE HAVE RELEASE AGGRO. Nothing I love more than being USELESS when something is being supertanked, unless I feel like running away (if it's possible, some battlefields it isn't). Carby pulling is all about getting the fuck out of aggro range anyway! And how about just making summoners better with what we already have instead of piling on new systems.

The difference is: you have a goal just like a level 1 BLM cannot cast Thundaga III. These avatars are already limited to 1 BP and you want them available at level 1? What's the point?
Having them locked at a specific level means that they don't have to worry about scaling their power all the way and result in being completely useless (see every single Astral Flow BP so far) when you hit the cap.
If my avatar is supposed to only come out once every 2 hours I want them to be powerful and not gimp because level 1 wannabe Summoners want to summon a cool pet to impress their friends.
Besides, in order to summon more powerful beings you need to become more powerful yourself. Staying at level one and calling Bahamut wouldn't make any sort of sense.
