Ok. I don't know if anyone checks these boards anymore but here goes.

I used to love this game. I spent so many hours in it leveling up, killing monsters, and making friends. Since I quit, I've lost touch with almost everyone I used to know, people I wanted to stay friends with for life. Most of you reading this probably know what I'm talking about, FFXI was about more than just the gameplay, or the endgame. It was the community, it was our friends that made us keep coming back through it all.

Now, FFXIV is coming out in less than a year, and I'm willing to bet that a lot of you out there are checking these forums again, trolling them but never posting and maybe feeling just slightly nostalgic. I'm sure most everyone who quit the game is going to at least give FFXIV a shot, but that isn't really my point. If you know someone who used to play, ask them to come back. Start reading things over, make a post or two. Let's try and get some fire back in this community, or at the very least get back in touch with some old friends!

I have no idea if this is going to work, but I hope it does. I'm sure like most of us, I just want to have fun with some friends I haven't seen in awhile.

I still check from time to time. I really want to see everyone in FFXIV from FFXI when I start... I wonder how the servers will be... I wonder if a large amount of people from Diabolos will join a certain XIV server... only time will tell...

Update on my life? I started FFXI as a sophomore in HS. I am now a graduating senior in college... soon to be thrust into the real world of unemployment and the realization that a bachelor's degree does not matter (especially in Sociology and English). This will all happen at about the same time I start playing FFXIV... god help the world.

Hi Ander, I think I remember you... haha. I doubt anyone even knows me but oh well. I am surprised this account on this forums was even active and me remembering the password. Anyone know if Makk / Makkoro and Luciadragon (*spelling) and Faylon still plays?

Can't wait for FFXIV to come out, I think I'll go pre order it now...

Just did the benchmark got a 2100ish on high. It was smooth enough for me.

Sadly, I remember all you fckers. lol I just unvoluntarily quit ffxi in May when I couldnt update my security deposit because of a playonline bug. Anyways, I pre-ordered my FFXIV and will be up by Sept22nd. I heard 2 things about this game that I am not 100% sure are correct. One is that they won't be using Playonline, and the other is that there will be no choice of servers. It's completely random. I guess we will find out when the game comes out.

ps It's nice to see you again Ryukooooooooo. Do you still swear like a truck driver? lol

BBoy! I think I have you on MSN still ;p I installed SS the other week, that brought back some memories. I saw a few people I recognized (but were all afk in spec), and I was sad I didn't see anyone from Anarchists =(. Gotta get on the same server again ;p

Hi Pest!

I haven't read a definite answer on the random server thing, but I remember trying to get on diabolos with 7 or so other people, that was annoying. I think only Makk and Templity lasted.

Haha, actually... I was just watching a video I made a while back from FFXI and I was SURPRISED at how much I cursed... (Every other word out of my mouth was 'fuck' or something similar...) I think I was just angry in HS. I still curse, yeah, but not excessively... I guess, not anymore than any average person does.

The not using Playonline is true, they made that announcement awhile ago I think. I'm not sure about the servers, been wondering about that myself. I really hope it's not random, that world pass stuff was total bullshit. We should all figure out a server and head there, try to get some people from Diabolos together and make an LS (or whatever it's called in ffxiv).

I've got my collectors edition reserved and completely paid off already, I still can't believe it's coming out so early!

FF14news.com just posted an update for the latest round of beta's, and included a screenshot of the world select menu. While they could enact some kind of world-pass feature into the game after launch, it appears that at least for Beta you can select where you want to go. Should make things a bit easier eh?
