[Frisk]

Hello!

As an avid monk of my fav mmo of all time, and with the release of the new 14 coming out sometime later this year the big question is: "will you follow the ways of your old character?" Or delve into other playstyles? From what I have gathered from reading sites, and info from various websites is that the class will defiantly make a comeback as niche role. Seems to be mixed with a lil bit of thf, and a touch on ninja imo.

Anyone else have some thoughts? (because I have been pondering playing the archer class) =)

Not going to touch FFXIV. In fact, at this point, I might just be finished with MMOs altogether, 'cause I don't trust SE to make an enjoyable game anymore (I really don't know how I tolerated the soul-destroying grind of FFXI twice) and no one seems to be able to seriously dent WoW's stranglehold on the market (I won't rant about Blizzard 'cause no one here wants to read it).

On the off chance I did play FFXIV, though, I'd probably end up going with the hand-to-hand fighter as I usually do.

Considering I tried WoW and Aion then dropped them because of the lack of a serious h2h class. You bet your ass I'll go MNK if I am going to play FF14. Wondering if I should go Galka this time around. I got nothing against being a Taru, except the HP I got in some cases, but not being able to look over a table after 6 years of playing gets annoying. Might just stick to Taru though, depends how they handle the camera this time around, especially in combat (stop the fucking ZOOMED in camera when I lock a mob and not being able to turn the camera much in said lock).

All due respect, most of what you said constitutes the same thing. I really understand what you mean about trusting SE, though.

On the idea of following your original character, I definitely would if they add a pet job, but right now it looks like melees will be more engaged, so I might go for that -- or do what I never managed to and invest in Archery (like irl, )
