Nothin special really....We do get a few bows that are situational, and one that can possibly out-do valis/selenes, but is a pain in the arse to get.

I wonder if the OAT can trigger on barrage, unlimited shot, or if it would insta-remove camouflage.

I figure, bow would be first to upgrade to OAT over gun. Arrows are cheaper than bullets, and I don't see too many corsair that actually use their gun to TP (might change if OAT activates on QD).

Think the OAT weapon is a gun. Some of the COR I know are doing flips for it, until they remember that they'd actually have to shoot for tp that way.

Dragonmaw Exclusive
(Marksmanship) All Races
DMG: 11 Delay: 590
Lv. 75 RNG / COR
DMG: +28 Delay: +70
Occ. Attacks Twice

I guess it could be pretty decent, hellfire +1 is D41 and this is D39 so I guess slugshot wouldn't take too much of a penalty. Royal pain in the ass to quest this though.

There's an Occasionally Attacks Twice bow, too, called Goshawk.

would make for a ridiculously easy 5 hit too, maybe 4 hit? doubt it

These guns are near impossible to get, but seem like a decent replacement for a hellfire...but I'll still choose hellfire+1 over these any day lol

The only OAT weapon worth the paper it's printed on is the D39 gun. The OAT bow is D62 (the good version) and it has 600 delay. Even Corsairs would find your WS damage to be unacceptably low.

how many of you actually wait to 150% TP to sidewinder? that thread isn't really telling me much else that wasn't already said in this thread.

Ya, basically it still can outdo a selene bow rng, but an E/vali bow rng? Don't think so.
Plus they didn't really test WSs, I don't think...I can see vali bow doing more on slug shot.

base dmg x 60 / delay = dps

dps bow
eurytos: 8.69 (wiki)
astrild: 9.16
goshawk: 6.2 x 45% OAT = 8.99

dps gun
hellfire+1: 3.94 (wiki)
magnatus: 4.6
dragonmaw: 3.54 x 45% OAT = 5.14

I have the str+4 gyrfalcon. it's more than adequate for any endgame situation you'd use a longbow in. its edge seems be in situations where you're close to cap on pdif. e-bow was doing less dmg on lv 30 mobs than gyrfalcon when i went outside into batallia to test it, but they came closer to even in single shot dmg when i fought some colibri outside whitegate. these screenshots are more about the support we had, and possibly my gear, than it is a test between ebow and gyrfalcon. i wanted to create a topic to go into comparisons between the two a bit better but i haven't spent much time with them both. for some reason it didn't save the screenshot of the 1009 sidewinder i did very early vs odin (11 chaos roll, double minuets, and likely af2 cor head proc).

these dmg pics are in 17-19' range. true strikes were inside 10', and i didn't spend that much time that close.

Wrong.

(weapon+ammo damage) / ([(weapon delay * [1 - Snapshot%] ) / 110] + 1.85) = DPS

For the sake of comparison, we can omit the ammo as they would all have the same value.
- and by same, of course gun vs gun using same bullet. Including ammo would turn this into another gun vs bow derail. I'd prefer it as ebow vs bow trials and hellfire vs gun trials. Feel free to compare and include ammo in your response. Then we'll have to mull around til someone throws up a parse and agrue about that instead.

I apologize for using wiki's dps formula. It only lists exceptions for hth weapons, but I also think multiplying the delay by 60 to get seconds is easier than dividing by 110 and adding 1.85 seconds before using it to divide the damage. Of course, I mean omiting snapshot since that's not any of the weapons attribute. That would be like adding haste and march to a melee dps formula built to compare melee weapons.

Mostly, the point of it all was to create some interest in unlocking an OAT ranged weapon. Seems to only benefit Dragonmaw vs Magnatus.

e.bow and hf+1 is for someone to compare dps vs attribute bonus when choosing and create their own assumption and choice.
