I won't be specific, but there are people on that list I know who are total elitist assholes. It's pretty satisfying to see them outed like this.

edit: Looking it again, though, there're a lot of names I'm disappointed to see. :(

This^

A few used to run Salvage with me :/ Shame because it's not like they were assholes either, but it's a perspective change.

Problem with that list is it doesn't delineate between who uses wizbot for crafting/pling and who uses for packet bot claiming, flee hacking etc. I suppose any bot use is equally bad in SE's eyes but I'd say that using windower is about on par with using a pl bot. Both give you a useful and unfair advantage without directly harming another players experience. That list also doesn't identify people who have benefited from wizbot's PLbot but did not themselves use wizbot which I would say is about a third of the server.

Since I quit a year ago or so.. I think..? yeah about that.. there is no huge kerfuffle about whether they're right or wrong. They were just doing it to even the odds and compete *shrugs* Dumb sideways gear really isn't that desirable outside of the instanced stuff anyways, its not even the prettiest anymore and this game is clearly all about playing dress-up with your virtual barbie, accessorizing your digital action figure and/or plopping a hat on a troll doll in the case of taru totes. PARSE IT, PARSE IT, WHOSE THE PRETTIEST?

I only lol drg'd because they never caught onto this, they were already some of the prettiest but we managed to guilt them into assault jerkins to drink their tears.

Definitely equal at least in the eyes of the TOS. On a subjective note of moral scaling, I.M.O. PL bot is worse than HNM bot and most windower features. It's something I've used quite a few times but am slowly breaking the habit of. To me at least, things like windower's fillmode and apradar's show all, crafting/fishing bots, automated windower scripting, or wizbot/app/etc scripting are down there among the worst. Plugins like blinkmenot seem innocent but are kind of at the deep end too. I've seen a lot of people say they used wizbot/ffapp for JA0 or onevent alone, but I fail to see how those features are particularly innocent compared to what else is out there.

Being on the list does not make you elite/cool/special.
It means you payed an extra 20 or 30 bucks (i forget how much, idc really) to play a game you're already paying a monthly subscription for.

And having it get played for you. I'd rather watch youtube of someone else play my game for me for free.

I'll bring this up in defense of on-event.

Try locking all 18 of AV's two hours manually, especially the last 2hr which has no margin for error, in the most hectic and chatfilter-fucked fight imaginable.

I was/always have been hyper-anal about bots but that's at least one legitimate justification imo.

No it is not, if you need a "bot" to beat a NM it is ether bad disghn or lack of skill

if something is wrong here but not wrong there is illogical. Who is to say where it is wrong and where it is not?

if it is ok to use on event on AV then it is ok to use on event everywhere.

Go fight AV to 40% and report your results.

I think you miss the point. If you need third party assistance to do something, in this case AV, it's either a lack of skill on your part or a design flaw in FFXI because you should be able to accomplish anything the game has to offer without having to break the TOS.

Basically, if it's too hard to do without a bot, you either suck or the fight is broken.
