only time you really need to /nin on mnk is if you're tanking outside of a merit pt
if you have to /nin your merits you need to get better healing

I main healed parties without a single buff so brd can pull more and cor can keep to it self and do more damage and keep buffs on it. I was also hasting everyone

I been in parties where I had full mp buffs and still hand a convert timer strain, and i have 5/5 merits.

Ok, first off, 'tard-sauce, Utsusemi is pointless when fighting skeletons. God knows, enough people were stupid enough to try to sub Ninja down there and they failed. Secondly, two healers in a KRT party was hardly uncommon, especially as this was back in the days when Bards could be relied on to be efficient backup healers. Third, the issue is that most mages these days are awful. You couldn't bring just any mouthbreather with Red Mage or White Mage leveled up down to KRT, you made damned sure to have smart mages and KRT made damned sure that mages were smart. Colibri has made everyone as dumb as rocks, but no one has been worse affected than healers. I leveled White Mage exclusively to show people how to play the damned job right, since I cut my teeth on Spartoi and knew what the job was capable of, but healers these days can be just barely relied upon to keep up a Haste cycle and eventually cast Raise when someone eats dirt due to their incompetence.

Pathwriter is right though. Mages haven't been good since KRT went out of fashion. Main reason why I can still count the merit pt's I had with Spharai (sept 2008) on one hand. I just can't be arsed when I know the backline is going to be fail anyway. While this isn't much different from KRT, you wouldn't go down there with people of who you didn't know were good after all, you at least know they would fucking try to be good. Nobody cares in a Colibri pt, it's just that stupid.

So here's to hoping they make a better camp (doesn't have to be bones) with the cap raise.

I call BS to your thinking that people in backline jobs these days don't have at least one thumb up their asses at all times. Ever since levelling Red Mage, I seethe with rage at these fuckers who cannot be arsed to toss out a Paralyze against a mob (and before anyone hurp durps about colibri mimicking that's NOT what I'm referring to) let alone even keep up with keeping themselves Refreshed, and god help the tank or any other MP using class. It's not rocket surgery by any stretch of the imagination, yet people cannot seem to grasp the most basic concepts of a job.

No one needs to bring their A game to goddamned pink birdies, and when the cap is raised that is where everyone is going to rush, synced to some poor fool set to Limit Points.
