Not really. I just expected the same as Remora but with a few additional cool people thrown in. I was mistaken. I think I lasted a week looking for people from here but then I finally was worn down by the disappoint and did other stuff instead. I did look for people though, I swear...

None of you were on.

I've heard tons of Levi players say the same thing. They were excited about the merger, hoping that intelligent people were going to be added to the mix and they claim they were mistaken. It was a different story for a guy who has not played in a few years coming back to Levi. You find that most (not all, but most) of the best players have already quit and many of the /facepalm players who think they're the McShizzle because they have Suzaku's Sune-ate are a lot more vocal now.

Hey. Hey.

Osode is still really awesome for RNG. I think.

1) That made absolutely no sense. 2) I've had this sig longer than you've probably even played this game. Plus I already asked Dragonix (on this same forum none-the-less) for a new one. Start paying attention.

EDIT: nvm, I see why Levi people were disappointed.

No it didn't. You made a crack about Seiryu's kote and Osode which are still a decent pieces of gear and were some of the best when this sig was made. I said "Suzaku's Sune-ate" which is not the same thing. Who uses Suzaku's Sune-ate outside wanting to create a huge Chi-Blast? Either you missed the point or failed at trying to be clever in either case.

Anyone of those jobs who will use MND will put Sune-Ate to use, mainly BRD but there's some random situations where NIN/RDM is useful, and they're amazing for RNG using Holy Bolts. S.kote were never a good piece on NIN but obviously are great for RNG (but i assume your sig is on nin), and Osode is bested by a number of other pieces for most jobs on it by AHable gear, including Hauby and Scorp Harness if you need acc (great for rng ws and tp with no mirke). I guess you could use Osode for Ni wheel if you're into that sort of thing..

If you're using Suzy boots on Brd... quit playing. Seriously

You'll always use haste boots on Nin. If you're subbing Suzy boots, quit playing. Seriously

I've had Rng for a long time. The damage increase is very minor. Plus, Darksteel bolts are cheaper now and deal more.

SH gives 5 more evasion than Osode but Osode will deal better DOT in solo situations. I've tanked butt-loads of things in Osode and did far better than the guy in my LS who used SH. Not to mention, I was one of the first NAs to get Osode on this server. Back then, SH and Hauby were 2M each while this was free. Do you even play a Ninja? If so, did you just hit 75?

Do you even know what a macro is? Put the sune-ate on for Stoneskin and macro them off. They're also a key piece for a Fire build if you're into that sort of thing. And as far as holy bolts v darksteel goes, I believe it was something like 100:22 on physical:light damage a shot where holy bolts are better (not that hard to do on a number of things). As far as osode in solo situations, the eva on SH would be more ideal if survivability is of any issue. But what the fuck, tank in osode? Arhat's gi (at least nq seriously) or you're a fucking terrible NIN. Any really, when have S.kote been any good on NIN?

Why the heck would someone waste an inventory slot for a piece of gear that will increase their stoneskin absorbtion by 1%?

Know anyone like that or are you just theorycrafting again?

Holy bolts are fail for any intelligent Ranger. Heck, even years ago the smart Rangers were using Darksteel instead because you can deal better DOT without having to gimp yourself with Mnd gear.

You're not only bad at theorycrafting (everything sounds great on paper), but you too easily give away that you have absolutely no clue how to play a Ninja. Arhat's gi, are you serious? lol I even remember a thread where someone told you off because you have a knack for pretending like you know what you're talking about in regards to almost every job when you don't even play half the jobs you pretend like you're experienced with.

Just reading your replies here, I can see why the Levi people were disappointed. Do yourself a favor and quit while you're behind. If you dig any further, you'll end up in China. Learn to pick your battles.

None of the jobs on it have enhancing skill, so it's very hard for any of them to cap stoneskin. However, sune-ate are going to increase the damage absorbed by each stoneskin by 30 or 45 HP depending on how much MND you get before them. That's at least worth an inventory slot on BRD.

Quote

Never heard of a Fire resist build? Not really surprised here.

Sune-ate are the only change to be made for a holy bolt build, where the only thing you're losing is either AF2(+1) feet or Skadi. But like I said, if you're doing 22 light damage to every 100 normal damage on your shots (11 to 50, 44 to 200 etc), holy bolts are better than darksteel.

What would you tank with osode where arhat's gi or scorp harness wouldn't be better? You're either gearing for PDT on shit that you can't evade decently so you get hit for less, or you gear for eva so you get hit less often. Osode is drastically worse at this than both of these pieces. And if you call tanking provoking in a merit pt, you should be using Haub.

Not if you're doing more than the total using darksteel with all the + to ranged attack you have. I had a feeling that you don't even play Ranger either, you just confirmed it.

Once I got Osode, I tanked everything using it and had 0 problems. Just have to be smarter than what you're fighting. Also, who said anything about a merit party? People still use tanks there? What time era are you living in?

Seriously, just stop. You obviously have no clue what you're talking about. You remind me of the guy last week who wouldn't stop insisting that D.body is THE best Sam piece in the game. You're almost as bad as Rambus in pretending like you know what you're talking about.

My name is Thorny and I've soloed Voluptuous Vivian, Fenrir, Big Bomb, Ancient Goobue, Charybdis, and many other mid-level NMs on NIN. I use Suzaku's Sune-Ate for stoneskin. I do not use Seiryu's Kote on NIN, and I didn't even bother getting an osode until my SAM dinged 75 last month. Rest assured though, I will not use it on NIN. Seeing as I'm on Leviathan, I could help you learn to play NIN sometime.. it's clear you fucking suck at it.

Straight from the wiki for that pic, but that's universally been accepted as the forumla for stoneskin for years. Looking at that, you'd almost have to be a taru with no MND gear on besides sune-ate to only get 30 damage reduction. Obviously there was a lot of testing and all that. Some of my info comes from BG, some from the wiki, and some of it personal testing.

Quote

Why are you answering a question with a question?

Fire builds were popularized on Tiamat back in the day, but can be used on a wide range of mobs that have a lot of fire based damage (sarameya, ks99 wyrm) but depending on your tank (mainly, their inventory) a lot of times they just use a MDT set if they need it.

Quote

Not if you're doing more than the total using darksteel with all the + to ranged attack you have. I had a feeling that you don't even play Ranger either, you just confirmed it.

Which is what I just fucking posted.

That's cool, I've seen 5/5 purple plds tank genbu too, but does that mean it's in any way good? Also the merit pt comment was because I honestly couldn't figure out why you would tank in an osode, so I was just trying to cover all sitiuations.

You didn't answer my question. Where did you get your data from? I didn't ask you where to find a formula for it. Like i've told you before (and i'm sure i'll say it again)... everything sounds great on paper.

No, you were trying to use your own math to claim that holy are better than darksteel. You didn't justify the other. You didn't give any kind of data other than your attempt at theorycrafting.

Quote

Since I specifically mentioned I had 0 problems, I would say they're good too if they were in the same boat.

Since you don't even play a Ninja, no matter how I elaborate, you'll never understand.

Like I said, just stop. To say you have no clue what you're talking about is a huge understatement.

Quote

you see now i just think you went from trying to troll using stupid ass gear choices, to just trying too hard

So you realize you just made a complete idiot out of yourself, so now you're trying to change the subject and call me a troll. Cute. Once more, it's people like you who disappointed those on Levi who hoped intelligent folk were coming over.
