Went to log on FFXI today and its saying that I'm banned. Have no clue wtf happend and why I'm banned so apparently either i say screw it and just don't play an MMO til FFXIV launches (not likely) or I just go get another set of disks and start over cuz i'm bored as hell with WoW :/ So tonight I guess I'm startin over. Probably try to snag a name similar to my old one but was curious..anyone know wtf would have them ban me????

All you can do is try that help center and see if they would invstage it.

if they say it is rmt related and you did not rmt tell them that and hope.

I had an account banned because I made lots of trades with my self ( mulling) and it was called rmt.

lmao never bought gil...i was one of the guys who spent hours in batallia farming tiger fangs while i LFP on my thief...came back for a month or 2 in october and had np.....got bored so i quit and just came back and now im banned

Re-think everything you could have done. I would say 90% of people who get banned did something wrong but won't admit it while 10% actually didn't know they did something wrong.

Friend was banned last year, never had a warning, never was GM called. And has never been told why he was banned, SE just says there was suspicious activity. He played on 360, never botted and never bought gil. His CC was maxxed out so he moved it to my CC is the ONLY THING that was even remotely suspicious, which has never been an issue with anything else. So uh yeah, lame.

Altanos, not trying to argue so don't take this the wrong way, but even your friends won't always admit when they did something wrong. I'm not saying that you're lying or were misinformed, but your particular case could be a "Altanos was only given half the story."

Then again, that's what you tell us but that doesn't necessarily make it so. People lie all the time. Most people are not going to wave their hands in the air and admit they were cheating/buying gil, etc.

John Q. Public guys himself 1M gil and continues playing. One week later, he just finishes killing Fenrir and he gets disconnected with a ban message. That was the time when SE found out he bought gil but he tells his friends "I got banned for killing Fenrir" because that was what he was doing at the time of the ban. Or, he could have been buying gil and having it sent to his mules to avoid suspicion.

There are just too many things that people don't admit to. I'm not saying everyone doesn't tell the whole story, but some of the reasons people give as to why they were banned are really far-fetched.

that is understandable in 2005, you can not assume that anymore

though i think even long ago i herd stories of people being banned when they sent KSNM 30 splits when you could get like 5 mil form it or w/e

How was that (what part?) only understandable if it was 2005? The point I made is that you rarely hear the whole story. People only tell you what makes them look good. I knew one guy who was banned for RMT and he actually admitted it. He was a gold whore in WoW and sold gold to RMT sites and finally got caught and his account banned. He wasn't ashamed to admit it.

I even said in my first post here not to take it the wrong way. I've just read so many excuses as to why some people were banned and it's like "come on, do you think we were born yesterday?"

The line of work that I do deals with digging to the root cause of problems using the 5Y or 8D methods. I can tell you from experience that you hardly ever get all the key details needed to explain something from the source.

Well for one, seeing as Neph hasn't played FFXI in quite some time, you would think that something would have been done while he played, not after he canceled his account. Also, Neph isn't a cheater, and when I was on Unicorn back in the day, I always saw him farming random stuff. Sometimes you just know when people are telling the truth, and Neph has never lied to me about anything, so I feel I can take his word. Not to mention that SE has been known for leaving blatant botters and gil farmers alone, meanwhile jailing or suspending accounts of people who were simply muling large amounts of gil to themselves after SE put that gil transfer limit in place.

Yeah, a lot of people get the whole, "YOU ARE LYING," routine when they post about this, and probably a good number of them are, however, when the same thing happens to you or someone you know, don't go crying about it when people tell you that there was cheating involved.
