None of Samurai's relevant sub jobs offer anything useful until 45. Namely, Aggressor, Treasure Hunter II, Haste Samba, and Violent Flourish to some extent.
Ranger sub will be SLIGHTLY more appealing at 80 with Shadowbind, but that's being sorta gimped, so meh..
Unless Tachi: Ageha is awesome or SE adds an interesting job ability, job trait or awesome equipment... Samurai isn't getting jack shit until 90+.

SAM is still going to maintain its superiority in situations unfavorable for general melee, but for everything else, everyone should be wary of NIN, THF, DW WAR, and MNK. Even without Innin, they're all getting a very large increase in attack speed, and you're all getting absolutely nothing.

It's based off RACC. /RNG has ACC Bonus 2 and SAM has access to quite a bit of RACC gear. And then there's Pot-Au-Feu and various sushi choices.

New JAs are going to be more rapecannons, I'm anticipating. As for Ageha, it would be nice if it had modifiers like yuki/gekko/kasha and was some other stat ailment.

2H melee would need to get some groundbreaking JA in leagues with Hasso to match what 1H melee are getting. Realistically speaking, when level 90 rolls around, any situation where melee aren't allowed to use Hasso is a situation where they're going to lose to most dual-wielders.

Since when have they not kept the dual-wielders down? They've got to do everything to maintain the Golden Children of the Samurai.

Doubtful, given that they chose not to give them Innin(which would have severely overpowered for most of the DD jobs in this game). They've obviously given this some thought.

I'm not getting back into that argument, because I wanted them available as a subjob. I wanted another reason to use monk other than being forced to go /NIN in my dynamis shell and since I refuse to do that on SAM..... Yeah.
(We run with like 8-12 people, that's why we run strictly /NIN for melee)

You're getting an absurd increase to base damage and a very significant boost to attack speed, you'll have plenty of incentive to use monk.

Your base damage is probably going to get hacked somewhere down the road, but Square has big issues with foresight. You'll have it for a while, if nothing else.

this is news to me, since dual-wielders are already behind on every single parse i've ever been witness to, and this includes the gimp two-handers that're literally only worth 1/3-4th of a top three parser, and besides, doesn't samurai get their next store tp trait at 90 anyways (five-hit anyone?)
monk is one to be reckoned with, definitely, but i still foresee ridill warriors pretty much being dirt

Any proper Ridill/Joyeuse can already keep up with a 2H melee in low-Acc scenarios, people simply use them inappropriately(be it an improper situation or just poor equipment). That was before Punisher, mind you. Toss on an additional 10% delay reduction, and Punisher/Ridill is going to give any Hasso-job a run for its money.
And 5 STP isn't going to make 450 delay GKT 5-hits any more viable than before. Like I said, unless SE has something big planned for 2H melee, you've got a lot to worry about.

Masamune's gonna have DMG: 91 Delay: 480 Store TP+8 TP bonus and all the rest will have nothing but converts 50 MP to HP. It's gonna happen, watch.
