/Whm more viable once update?

Will /whm begin to bring us closer to bards because once we hit 80 we'll be able to have haste available from /whm? Or does it not really make enough of a difference?

Could give /WHM more use, however SE might try to gimp Haste as a SJ. Or give WHM and RDM Haste II at some point.

Assuming there are no changes to Haste while /WHM as well as no new version of the spell available to those who have it already, expect /WHM to take over your lives when it comes to ideal merit parties. With a backline of BRD/NIN, DNC/NIN, and COR/WHM, you'll no longer need RDM or WHM anymore, and obviously adding an additional DD is going to have a better effect on the party's productivity than if you were /WAR.

I hope they give WHM or RDM an AoE haste. Haste cycles were one of the most annoying things for me to do as a healer.

Well, every RDM and WHM will be /SCH for quite a few reasons, so there you go.

COR is still SOL though :P

Yeah, don't remind me ><

At least when the 99 cap update comes out /RDM will have access to haste.

EDIT: After sleeping on it COR/WHM in an EXP wouldn't be too bad. I could stay in the back and just focus on QD which would be cheaper than bullets. And the only person I'd have to haste is myself and one person assumning the PT is a standard COR/BRD/Healer/3DD setup.

Still though, wonder what SE has in store for COR's damage potential.

Lets pretend for a second that your corsair is capable of, in a party consisting of <healer>, BRD, DNC, COR, <DD>, <DD>, providing ~30% of the total damage dealt. Given the party setup, that's a fair assumption for the output of both of the two pure damage dealers. Berserk and DA, at most, will increase your own damage by no more than 20%(most of that is from Berserk, obviously). In order for your subjob to justify not substituting in another DD in lieu of the now unnecessary healer, it would have to increase your output by 100% minimum.

tl;dr, You're an idiot.

For the most part yeah /WHM isn't all that great until you can cast haste with it. Since /RDM can help you cure just fine.

Sorry, can't think straight since my sleep is all over but yeah, Haste made /WHM the default SJ now sadly.

I'd be more concerned about a COR's ability to keep mp as /whm. Is there any refresh gear cor can wear? If you're hasting 4 people that's 160 mp you must have every 3 minutes and you lose 1 minute of those 3 casting haste. In full MP gear my mp pool (with no refresh) could survive 3.2 rounds of haste and nothing else before I would be out of mp (so about 9 minutes). It is my experience that a pulling bard rarely gives ballad to the healer so maybe you can hope for ballad 2. You will only have evokers roll for 4 out of 5 minutes and you will lose additional potential resting time to buffing the party. If we assume that the DNC focuses on healing and not DDing you probably won't have to help much with cures and you might be able to just barely pull it off. Anything less than an excellent party and I see cor's ability to keep a party hasted falling quite flat.

If you can't rest after throwing out 4 hastes, you are doing it wrong. However, COR has to do rolls as well, which is the only thing I can see making it more difficult, but there's still plenty of time with a 3 roll rotation.

I'm more of your typical "BRD or no invite" type of person, however even without a BRD you'd more than likely have a RDM so refresh and evokers should do you fine.

Corrderio, the topic of discussion really seems to be eluding you. We're trying to get rid of the healer.

If you have a RDM, you should sub WAR and DD. The reason people are advocating COR/WHM for merits is because you can haste people and DNC can keep everyone alive.

I guess in that case it would be effective, although I really don't trust DNCs.

A good majority of DNC aren't very good, but the good ones are fucking amazing (/wave nini).
