I don't know if this is non canon or not. Sora fighting a Nobody in KH1? Does not fit in. Would be slightly interesting if you did KH1 through Riku's perspective. But as a KH fan, I need to tell you Nomura, this is just milking the hell out of the series now. Give us KH3 already. ><

I'm fine with BBS because it is preparing you for KH3, but I do seriously want to slap Nomura for every side story he makes.

If he has to make an entirely separate game to prepare people for the story of another game, there's something completely wrong. It's kind of like those prequel comic books for movies that end up having a shit ton of information or character development that the fucking movie should have had in the first damn place.

Sora is going on his next journey to go out and save them, it'll give me that feeling and determination to save Ventus, Terra, and Aqua from all the crap Master Xehenort pulled off and it already has me into the characters right from the get go. Not only that, a lot of confusing stuff that happened in KH2 was answered for the most part, which was very nice.

A lot of people can't pull a prequel preparing you for a sequel very well, but SE actually did a really good job of hyping me up even more for KH3 by simply playing through Birth by Sleep.

I keep trying to get into the Kingdom Hearts series. I finally beat the first one about a month ago. Got a little ways into KHII, then decided to play Valkyrie Profile some more. Haven't looked back. (Vagrant Story is next.)

I don't care about Kingdom Hearts and I can't even force myself to care, especially since the direct sequel decided it was going to expand on a simple story by making everything completely incoherent. Japanese developers do that a lot. See: Metal Gear Solid, Devil May Cry, Ninja Gaiden, FF7 spinoffs, and every Japanese fighting game ever made.

There's a difference between "complexity" and "coherence". The phrase, "Elephants rain dachsunds," is a simple sentence, but also one that doesn't make sense. I'm fond of pseudorandom concatenations of lingual complexity, and my posts span the gamut of "makes perfect sense" to "what the fuck did you just say, and why are there so many goddamn hyphens in your post?"

Devil May Cry's story may be simplistic, but it falters with its execution. (Not that it matters much, since DMC1 and DMC3 are still fucking fantastic when it comes to gameplay and action, which more than makes up for its "story" that should really just be called, "excuse for going and doing different things that are awesome.")

So it does link directly to KH3 and will introduce elements of what will be on KH3 gameplay wise.

What I find funny is, it says that Sora and Riku have to be in their clothes when they were younger. Why exactly? I am pretty sure the majority of people were in favor of Sora and Riku's current design. Went less on the cartoony look. I do like however that Riku will finally be a playable character, except that one part in KH2 and as a character in the DS game.

I can be very sure Riku won't be a full playable character in the actual KH3 though. Nomura has said several times that the main entries of KH itself revolves solely around Sora. So I doubt multiple playable characters will be in KH3, unless they do the one moment things and Micky as a back up fighter.

I am glad we are going to at least get something while waiting a real long time for KH3, the direction this 3DS title is going, I can't say to be sure.
