No, because the proc rate is still abysmal. They'd have to actually adjust guard rate to something decent to get any actual utility from the job trait

No, it's not. Unless you whore guard+ in every slot, w/ capped guard you get practically the same rate as someone w/ 100 guard on anything that matters is what I'm tying to say, lol

Wow... instead of hoping for a counter during Ichi (which isn't much of an issue) I can now just force it, without stance even. With a cooldown timer of 1min... they finally gave us something nice.
As for the second thing, oh well, freeby tp once in a blue moon, much like Aesir earring XD

The only thing I wonder is that being a "perfect counter" is it still subject to the 95% hitrate and can miss, like any other counter, or is it a true, guaranteed counter.

Until we get traits for Guard Mastery I, II, III, Guard is not going to proc enough for that trait to be worthwhile. The new "I need to get Ichi up" ability is nice and all I guess, but that's pretty much all it is. At this rate, I don't think we are going to see anything to move us from /NIN.

Boo... I was really hoping for some nice new toys. It's pretty sad that the most exciting addition is a forced guard during ichi cast. I hate having to go /nin just for utsu. Make dw -delay traits affect h2h as well(ok well that would be game breaking...) or give mnk a real solid defense mechanic, or hell even treat h2h as a 2h weapon(screw the str/dex bonus) imagine being able to use hasso/seigan. Do something, don't make it so our only viable subjob for 90% of the time is ninja.

I just have to point out that it's a forced Counter. Guarding during casting does nothing to prevent interrupts, and is likely being confused with Shield for Paladin.

Is h2h considering main hand? or is it considered dual wield or what?

Hand-to-Hand is considered its own thing, I'm pretty sure. It shares a lot of functionality with Dual Wield and emphatically is not two-handed. I'd doubt that it will function with Fencer. Square-Enix is aware, sometimes more than the playerbase (which seems somehow insane), that Monk is rather deadly. That's why they never give us anything.
Anyhow, this is just level 80. There's 19 more levels to go before they achieve whatever balance they're working towards.

Monk/war is pretty crazy now without the need for Fencer. Aggressor at a later point is going to be icing on the cake.
I am still satisfied with this update in terms of Monk. A new ability to enhance Monk's survivability and tanking skill without sacrificing damage is pretty nice.

Any point in counterstance on a chariot with perfect counter? 1min Cool down is almost perfect for Ichi casting and you retain your Def rating. I guess it depends on how spammy the mob is being with aoe.

^ That's what I was thinking. I absolutely love having Third Eye(non-Siegan, obviously) lying around when tanking as SAM/NIN for those Ichi casts you just know you probably won't be able to complete.

What you guys said sums up my thoughts, I'm considering making a swap from Counterstance praying to PDT gear for tanking now. A mix between PDT / Perfect Counter might be the best plan now.
Complete side note: Anyone have any luck on Foragers augments <_ <? I'm so far at 4 and the best is AGI +2 Enmity +1.
