no it is possible but like gosh said, very very very tricky to pull off. But ultimately you get major cool points when you do and people go "wtf is there a sam here?"

You can't solo double darkness. Shikk is nice but not worth sitting on TP.

DRKs can already self SC /sam with out much effort.

If you wanna solo something then Sekkanoki -> Infernal Scythe -> Catastrophe at start could be a huge advantage.

Why would that be a "huge advantage" ?

To be honest I haven't gotten Infernal Scythe yet as I haven't had a chance to get on the game lately.. (And my DRK still only lv76 atm) but all reports about Infernal scythe seem to agree that it sucks.

Apparently Infernal Scythe sucks a lot damage wise, and the attack down is not very impressive either... having that in consideration, isn't the best defense a better offense? ...in other words, just do Sekkanoki > Cata > Cata > Darkness. Do more damage, thus killed your target faster and you took less damage in the long run.

fuck that shit
it's all about the /sch baby!

shame drain2 is completely "un-ga-able" from what I saw.
didnt try aspir2 since these mobs dont like
but yeah also that absorb str doesnt stack. only got like 20str+ from that WITH nether void..
ok yeah /sch is fun for stunga
but it seems more practical for pld.. especially since it gives plds not ONLY aspir.. but aspirGA
flawless Crowd Control.. only one pld in my ls has 80 and /sch so cant WAIT to see how well this shit works

You get 27 STR on the "first" abs-str with nether void, but the later ones will overwrite with +18 methinks

This ^

Testing shows absorb spells with nether void giving 27 to your attribute. Which is ~50% increase. It also seems to give ~50% increase to Drain/Drain2.

Not that hard to self SC -> MB -> Drain2 it seems with just abs-tp. did this first try
But the con is that you cannot nether void beforehand else it will be wasted on abs-tp, you want it on drain2. so you gotta do it right after: WS->WS->SC->Nether Void->Drain2

Also, gear swaps ruin the Skillchain, it does not appear in log nor animation. even on other clients. But you still get MB

Needs more Timestamp so we can get a better idea of your timeframe. I've never been able to pull off an ABS-TP self-SC without using Meditate before my first WS...but I'm a terrible DRK, so take that as you will.

You mean that you don't get a Skillchain/Skillchain damage if you do a gear swap? If that's what you're saying...then you are incorrect.

If you "blink" during the time when the Skillchain animation is supposed to go off, it will not get shown in your screen/chat log etc; however, you really did the skillchain and the mob took the damage from that... and of course, just as you noticed... you can also magic burst as well because there WAS a skillchain.

If you really want to "blink"/gear swap after you do your closing WS, AND see the damage of your skillchain etc in your chat log...then you could wait like 2secs after your closing WS, then do the gear swap/blink... and then it will show it on your screen. It's a problem when blinking immediately after doing the closing WS, but there IS a skillchain.

Well he's doing it on Elementals Firefeng.

Elementals, as I'm sure you know, don't use TP moves...so they pretty much always got a lot of TP.

I actually most of the time get 90-100 TP returns with Absorb-TP on Elementals.

Not hard to self-skillchain on Elementals with those high absorb-TP returns etc.

Then also like you said...even easier if you use Meditate before the first WS, but it's not really necessary if you're getting high enough absorb-TP returns. Nevertheless, absorb-TP is not as reliable on other mobs, or well... you have to "time it" more...but yeah it can be done sometimes etc.

So I suppose I'll ask here, has anyone seen an NM named Carbosse or any items drop called Carbosse's Gems? Last stage for Caldabolg, which I should be on or close to Monday/Tuesday, is to get 50 of them. Let me know if you cross any in Echos/Abyssea.

If you look closer in the screenshot you will notice that I timed my WS right before I was supposed to do a regular melee hit. This makes the WS to "halt" the melee hit and I will do a regular melee hit right after the WS instead of the "513 delay". This gives the added TP needed for second WS. But yea, if you get 85+ TP off abs-tp then you don't need to do that trick. It is possible to fire off abs-tp and self SC.

sheesh you guys are taking this too seriously. Its something to do when you're messing around. for anyone (this is probably all of us) who's played for a long time you have a certain feel for how much tp a mob has via how much you've hit it/its hit you etc. Timing is of course everything and when i'm screwing around i've had my facepalm moments of the mob starts charging its tp move and get it off right before I cast <_<

Yes meditate was figured into this, i did not mention figured it was something taken for granted. <_< sorry
