I wonder if there will be a main healing class. I thought to myself in the very beginning that I would play as a healer in this game but I don't really want to play as either a Conjurer or a Thaurmaturge trying to heal people. Doesn't sound plausible. Guess imma just go DD/TANK FTW!
after E3... must say 14 looks damn amazing

You can be a main healer, you just have to focus your stats and abilities into it.
Apparently there are compiling penalties for overgeneralizing your abilities, every class will retain a good bit of its individuality despite being mix and matched into different custom classes. Main Healer will definitely be a viable option.

as they say...jack of all trades, master of none...
you can generalize your skills, but you'd be crap at all of em, or you can specialize, and be good at that thing

Thats word on the street anyway. Though according to 4gamer.net, only the jobs currently listed on the official site will be implemented on release. It's funny how they are like "18 classes!!!" but only 7 of them are combat. The other 11 are in DoH and DoL. QQ-kachu!

this whole extra job thing doesnt make sense to me, i dont get how they can make more with the same weapon, like if they were to make a SMN job, im pretty sure it would use a staff or wand, and even if it didnt i cant picture any other type of weapon for a mage, maybe a book but thats not SMN stuff. and for some reason i dont see them branching advanced jobs off of beginner jobs, so i dont know how thats gonna work

Conjurers use Wands and Canes, Thaumaturges use Scepters and some sort of fancy names staff. So you can have weapons from the same type if you use variations within the field. Or you could do something like say Summoners use Bells. Or Batons.

Keep in mind around half of those are crafters.
Also yeah, I'm figuring Darkarts is Ninjutsu and will be similar to NIN. Also thinking Arcanist will be the Scythe class.

Could potentially use whips and chains (ref. Rydia, FFIV)
Also... Needs a collage of -Kaine-'s emotes! ! !

Arcanist don't have Scythes. That was my original speculation, but it turns out they have some sort of unrevealed class of magical rifles... or something... I can't describe what the hell it looks like. And I didn't think to take an SS when I could.
