Hai there!!

Im going to be a new player soon and I was thinking of been a black mage! either a Mithra or a Taru any tips on a starting newbie? Best starting city and so on ^^ good servers and what not !

isn't really a "Best starting city". pick whichever of the 3 you like. But just as a recommendation, since you're leaning towards mage jobs and 2 races that are native to a certain city, I'd recommend Windurst. You get a nice ring for choosing the city your race hails from. But overall, pick whichever you'll be satisfied with. nationality can be changed, race can't. so dont pick something you'll regret later, because starting over again and again just because you decide you dont like your character's look is a sure fire way to burn yourself out before you ever really get started.

Well I whanna be a taru their uber cute and Im told their the best mages stats wise. Thanks the the tips

Taru's definately have an easier time than other races playing mage jobs. But don't limit yourself to mage jobs only, simply because you're a taru. race, though a contributing factor, doesn't make other jobs like melee's impossible to play well. It all boils down to the player.

Cool hehe well I love mages always have so I thought Id play them maby a melee if I get bored!

all race's make fine melee DDs, taru generally make the best mages and galka the best tanks.

Unless you have a lot of spare time I wouldn't suggest XI. It takes a lot of commitment to get just about anything done

That's good to know, considering you'll need a lot of it if you play BLM.
