according to the wiki chart..

perp cost for carby / fenrir / avatars / spirits has gone from
at 75: 9 / 11/ 13 / 18

at 80: 10 / 12 / 14 / 20

which is only 1mp/tic more for all except spirits.. pretty good really, considering how avatars cost steeped up really quickly between 65-75.

Almost everything will become virtually the same as long as you can get your hands on an additional perp cost, such as with Augur's Brais.. wonder where that comes from..

That's definately not true. Whoever did the tests forgot that we have Auto refresh Trait. I lose 10mp/tic with Carbuncle, 12 with Fenrir and 14 with Diabolos/Celestial when naked. Minus the Auto Refresh that'S 11, 13 and 15 respectively.
Our Perp goes up @ 77 and 80 as someone mentioned in earlier Tests.

Edit: Would someone be so kind and Edit it on Wiki? I tried to, but actually I don't know how to put it into the sourcecode the right way >_<

The only "lol" avatar is Ifrit really. All the others are useful in one way or another.

you sir are wrong.. he has one of the few moved that is both physical and magic, and is rather useful in kiting mobs that have strong fire based ability as well as being the only avatar whos favor i seen used in a zerg ~15%DA when you swinging that fast is nothing to lol at (i know it doesn't replace a dd in that spot). but ya he has his uses

oh and i used him for this SS

If you're in a zerg you shouldn't be using Ifrit sorry. That pic doesn't prove anything other than e-peen damage.
He's worthless in most endgame events compared to the other avatars.

Only Avatar worth zerging is Alexander, has yet to fail me. Saving partys life and saving whm+rdm mp is better than some double attacks

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lower avatar cost! Elemental Siphon MP sucking will be higher!!!! And hey what about the "blood pacts will have their effect duration lengthened commensurate with summoning magic skill, regardless of whether or not the skill has been increased to its maximum"? So the duration effect of avatar's buffs will be prolonged?!?? LOVE IT!!!

I think it means that the duration of buffs will be increased depending on your smn magic skill instead of your skill over current level cap. Of course, this might also mean that durations will be extended for all smn magic skill levels, including the ones over cap.

Ugh... I KNOW. I just keep telling myself, "Why do you keep doing this to yourself? You become nostalgic, reinstall and activate XI, then start playing again for a few days... then get bored and stop playing. Then in a few months, you feel the nostalgia again. It's never going to go away, but playing again won't help it either... 'cause everyone you played with is gone, and this ain't the FFXI you knew."

There is no better deterrent to playing FFXI than actually playing FFXI.

I am on the verge of buying a cheap pc just because i'm stuck in this vicious loop.

How do you break the cycle when other mmos pale that "ole XI feel".

(Point in case, i'm currently playing CoH and looking at DCOU because I am in desperate need for an mmo)
