It's already been discussed on other forums, but possibility that they no longer work w/ footwork being the adjustment.

The OAT hasn't worked properly with the Mythic weapons, and that has been how many years?
I'd say the odds are it doesn't work with footwork anymore. It's not like any of our H2H attributes are suppose to work with our feet.

That's crazy, now which HNM will it drop from that no one will be able to get drop because you only have 30-120mins to find it, get people to gather to it and kill it in then hope for it to drop, every 3-4 days. Then when you finally kill it and it drops you get booted.
I guess since this is only the visions of Abyssea, it makes since that we are on a time limit in theory, and that once the 3rd installment is released hopefully the time limit will be abolished.
But I was under the impression these new areas were going to introduce the new xp camps, xping for 30 mins a day makes for a long ass climb to 80, thickets and Mire are going to be so damn crowded.
But that's another topic, those frozen turkeys on each fist are deadly.

I love Monk and I have lost sleep wishing I could have Spharai, but it has never been in dire need of a boost. It was always an insanely strong weapon and remained so with the Magian trials. If anything, one-handed weapon calculations need to be adjusted (or nerf two-handed, but that would make people cry) just a smidge and people need to get their heads out of their asses about how awesome Monk is, has been, and will always be.

MNK was a strong job, but Spharai were always a small upgrade when compared to how large other relics were. Now they have they have a comparable / better boost than their counter parts. Also, enhances counter 2? Holy fucking shit.

If the change to Burtgang is any indication (-10% Physical Damage Taken to -12% Physical Damage Taken), the Enhances Counter II is probably going to be +15 total Counter at best. Still fucking awesome, but nothing truly game-changing.
And the problem was never really with Spharai, it was with Destroyers and the way Critical Hits interact with Monk DPS. If we get a Destroyers 2.0, I anticipate the same problem. Thing is, Spharai was never a pure-damage weapon the way that, let's say, Amanomurakumo is a pure-damage weapon (by contrast, Apocalypse, Annihilator, Yoichinoyumi, and Bravura are utility weapons). Spharai is a tanking weapon, putting it in the same league as Excalibur and to be judged as such, though Excalibur obviously has an advantage with its proc that disregards melee stats beyond Accuracy.

Excal doesn't actually add anything to your tanking ability, as the additional effect creates no emnity. Going from 70 -> 75% counter rate is a 16.6~% decrease in melee hits getting through while Counterstance is up. You're right though, and I've always agreed with the fact that Spharai were a utility relic on par with Apoc in that sense.
