DMG:+27 Delay:+51
Anyone else feel the love? I'm hoping that the "future upgrades" for this will include a "Suppresses Overload" augment. Yes, I know I'm expecting the world but I would be happy with that and TP Bonus or something that doesnt involve useless stats.

looks like it would make sense if it was a continuation of Mantis

That these are level 80 rather than 99 leaves me wondering just how relevant they'll remain. These weapons are already comparable to relic weapons with two Magian trials complete, albeit totally lacking stats thus far, so I wouldn't hold my breath that they'll be easy to acquire, much less to augment.

that's what I'm afraid of, the progression feels like its going to be fast, if I'm not mistaken we're getting a level cap increase in another 3 months? for the next addon. The dats already show tons of armor and gear that make current gear so obsolete
gonna be super busy I guess, better than no content right? heheh....

This is part of the mantis trial, each finished magian item has 2 more trials onto it while the dmg/oat path breaks off further and has split paths again. Another trial to pump the lv75 weapon once more and then one more trial to transform it into the lv80 weapon (Requires VNM like the previous trials). There was also another hth that you could choose aside from Verethragna and it started with an S (lower dmg+ though).
Also only the weaker oat weapons have oa2-3x or double attack augments as of now, the stronger ones have trials that increase dmg.

I actually just started working toward a set of these (monotonous NM camping stages atm). They look so... fucking kickass.
As for them being lv80: Considering the relic/mythic upgrades and the general continuation of all magian trials.... the Trial of the Magians is very obviously SE's strategy to spread out the level cap raises. We just got cap80 and cap80 weapons, many of which are upgraded from cap75 weapons. I'm thinking a lot of people will end up turning to magian trials eventually once the stages are all released.
As for the gorgeous Verethragna, there *will* be future augments. Even if it's just raising up the base dmg. And they'll still be beautiful.
P.S. Anyone notice the new series of trials that each stage gives a 10% bonus to specific WSs (currently ending with Dragon Kick)? I'm wondering what the final WSs will be for each weapon class and if they'll be augmented with this trial series. The trials are easy, just excecute the WS 100-400 times.

SE gotta fucking stop the damn Trial of the Magians shit for weapons!!!! Not everyone got the time to a bazillion mobs and NMs and their grandchildren. I hope they do come with other ways to get weapons as good as these, killing NMs or synthesis or some shit. I barely see a few weapons that aren't from the stupid moogle quest. it's a shame such a cool looking weapon is from that ghey Magian crap. What ever happened to elite training LOL!!! That was so much fail...anyways I totally agree with augmenting gear but not this way...

Looking at it with SE's goal of raising the level cap several separate times, magian trials are a fantastic way to get a good weapon and then upgrade it to maintain its capabilities. The entire system is pretty smart, and it seems like they'll be adding entire new branches, not just more trials to existing paths. I'm actually a little surprised that they don't have a similar system for armour (or add armour to the trials). But I suppose Armour tends to outlast weapons on a level by level basis.

Off topic, but didn't feel like starting a new thread.
Tornado Kick is good fun, if nothing more. Used it to solo Light without Puppet WS:

That was actually pretty bad ass. I just don't see the point of subing sam just for the sake of getting more TP, So far I find war to be the best sub job for pup, the rest are situational to me.

Stealing your puppet's TP should totally count as using his weaponskill.

Try that again w/o your automaton out. If you can't reproduce the results, then it counts as using maton ws, at least his tp.

The point was, no ghetto crap damage Magic Mortar, not the fact that his TP wasn't required.

So... using a pet means it's not a solo SC? That's a retarded semantics argument. Tactical Switch TP comes from the automaton. The automaton is a result of activate. So, PUP's meditate took two JAs and some time. Big deal. Oh and he subbed SAM for sekkanonki, so he ripped off that extra 100% from another job. Forgot it works that way.
Happy to see Tornado Kick is snazzy. I just like getting something new, as long as it doesn't break anything pre-existing. Need two more merits into H2H before I can give it a whirl. Thanks for the vid, Auraeon.

Neat that we can make light without the puppet-ish (there's still Shikikoyo!).
Less neat you need to use two mediocre weaponskills to complete light. Tornado Kick would have been ten times cooler if it made light/dark with just Stringing Pummel.
Personally as a taru, Tornado Kick has been giving me low returns though I do enjoy twirling.

It's meant for use with Footwork. It's going to suck regardless of your race without it (especially as a pup).
