Eh, for some reason I thought he said it landed you at 27%, which is wasteful. Must have been mixing things up. Yeah, you'd get +4/1024 haste and 2%-3% crit rate doing it that way instead, so would be the better option.

For accuracy, I'm guesstimating a need for 435 accuracy for basic cap, maybe 455 for more evasive stuff (eg: something comparable to mamool nins).

With that target you could drop the Noritsune for the h2h mnk/war build and use OKote, given pizza, for most stuff. With Focus up, could swap out pcc/toreador/hollow for str ring, att earring, and maybe Backlash Torque if you felt like killing a VNM a few times, or Faith Torque (preferred). Similar for Footwork builds.

Of course if you switch to Poise you're going to want to make up the 20 accuracy, though since you're already 10 over estimated cap, just use NKote with Focus down and OKote with Focus up, and use the same neck/ring/ear swaps as before.

Do you think /Samurai could be done effectively? Third Eye is a pretty mediocre defense with Seigan but it's a complete joke without it. Perfect Counter isn't making us untouchable, either (quite the opposite, since it'll just boost Enmity). I'm still trying to decide where I want to put my money, if anywhere. Aurore Beret is looking like an obvious investment, though, since Snapshot would be quite nice on my Ranger.

Oh, I thought Poise Shoes were Rare/Ex. If they're only Rare, then you're right, it's simply a matter of time. Thanks for pointing that out.

Yea a good chunk of the new stuff is only rare.

Well, Third Eye could be used to block TP moves, while Perfect Counter takes care of melee. It -might- be workable defensively; not something I've played with, though, so hard to say. Combined with Counterstance and normal evasion, and assuming 4 second round times for mobs, you should only get hit by maybe 5 out of 15 melee swings per minute. Of course that's still a lot of damage, so who knows..

You're right about the enmity, though. I haven't gotten firm numbers, but my feel is that Perfect Counter has similar enmity to Counterstance, about 900 VE.

Personally I'd be more reluctant to use /sam without Usu body, since otherwise you're restricted to weaponskilling in Cobra Harness. Not terribly bad, but still rather weak, and weaponskills are more important while using Footwork. If you can get the Brisk Mask, though, that opens up a lot of options on the weaponskill side.

Of course where it gets fun is if you have a cor giving you Sam Roll with a sam in the party. With White Tathlum you can reach a 5-hit (2 hits from weaponskill, 3 from melee) on any roll the cor is likely to stop on. With OA2-3 weapons, that's virtually always 2 rounds between weaponskills, or a weaponskill every 8 seconds or so with decent haste.

Actually, with the OA2-3 weapons, you're best optimized at a 5-hit or a 7-hit build, given the average number of rounds to weaponskill. If you can't get the 5-hit, you're probably better off taking the 7-hit with a different sub.

Thank you, that helps a lot. And, yeah, I don't see /Samurai being a particularly viable sub unless they start treating Footwork as two-handed, at which point the already broken mechanics of Monk would shatter the game.

I remember reading forever ago that destroyers weren't that far behind the original sephari when they were compared... however, i dunno if this was a parse or maths'd

So when comparing them to fire affinity magians, is it really a clear cut win for the magian weapons?

Duo maybe, but you'll be stuck dealing with that healing move they do forever.

SO uhh I have come to a sort of crossroads in my h2h choices.

I am considering right now whether to go after the 19dmg OAT h2h (easiest to get for me) or the 0dmg 2-3 attack ursine claws (fuck 3500 mobs). I understand the 2-3 rock with footwork, but how much more? If its very minimal then how does the OAT h2h compete with the other attainable ones?

I also have pup, but no clue if the OAT are best for that job either. Help!

I know for a fact that you've read Kinematics's thread on Alla, so why are you even asking? If using Footwork, OA3 is the best option. OA2 is inferior to normal punching with OA2. If you're really in a position to collect 10 VNM drops and then a pile of drops from Abyssea, may as well go for the high damage option OA2. In the time you might spend working on those, however, it's not inconceivable to get an OA3 done. If trying to get a single option for both Monk and Puppetmaster, high damage OA2 should probably perform well with Puppetmaster.

If you ignore him, maybe he will stop asking stupid questions or questions he already knows the answers to.

Get friends, kill Wamoura Princes. It's barely possible to solo that trial, but you can expect to spend weeks at it if you do. Ideally, try to log in on a weekend in the morning, there's a higher probability of JP players working on the trial to party up with.
