I think its better to get the CE though IMO. But the Goggles will be the make or break for playing in sep as opposed to march

Well if the Standard Edition does not come with a free month like the CE does, it's a definite better buy. I can do without all that extra shit easy. And a week early aint much especially if the servers are shit the first week anyway =)

& why is the dang release period 6 1/2 months apart..
thats a long time to miss out on things...
i remember them saying they wanted to release to all platforms at the same time this go around unlike they did for ffxi, so everyone could start together..
im probably going to have to end up buying for PC also, because i want to exp things with everyone not 6 1/2 months later when everyone has stats high, and calls you newbs for being so amazed with the first town you enter..

I dont know about the CE for FFXIV. I've gotten the CE for many of the MMO's that I've played and I stayed with them for maybe a month. AoC, Aion, Vanguard all CE, all played for a month tops and the artbooks, in-game items, have all been decent but it didnt seem worth it. Although I did play those games looking for something to take my attention off of playing FFXI and this is the sequal.

Decisions decisions..

oh yeah, Sucks to be PS3 onry right now. I went through the same thing with my copy of FFXI when the PS2 version came out. My wife had played since the October PC release of FFXI and I didnt get to play until the PS2 version came out in March of '02. My dates are probably messed up but whatever, I'm tired.

It is usually so they can release the game earlier. What you have to do to get a 2010 release out there.
