No, Square-Enix is just picking people who signed up, there are going to have three beta phases, the original Alpha group and a select amount of new players do the first beta, then in the 2nd, all of them including more new players will be allowed in, and then the 3rd phase, they are going to let a mass amount of people in, but from what they said it will still be closed. The beta will stop a few days before the retail version's release.
