5 people well geared. usually half the LS is full of crap people with crap gear with crap jobs

Get a better ls then? Can't really have sympathy for you here if it's what you chose to surround you with.

Actually i just applied at another shell. Finially finished the hound trial, Now to see how bad the doomed one is
The lower level ones check as easy prey so its not that bad. 246 left to go...

Yes, well, as the troll makes a nuisance of himself, people are starting to kill Lugarhoo in earnest both in a vain attempt to capitalize on Monk's interest in Poise Shoes but, more importantly, to get the Atma that he drops, which is quite powerful indeed. Expect Poise Shoes to become fairly available and at a reasonable price soon.

And five people is more than sufficient to kill Lugarhoo. My LS did it a couple times with four (Monk, Monk, Scholar, Red Mage), though the obvious lack of Treasure Hunter reared its irritating head and all we got for our trouble was some XP and Cruor. Honestly, he's a moderately difficult NM, but only because of the near perpetual intimidation rate at low HP. Helices and DoTs, if you can get them cast, certainly help a fair bit. I noticed on one fight that he went a good few minutes without using Call of the Moon and his intimidation rate dropped to almost zero, so it appears that the issue is less of his HP being low than of him stacking Call of the Moon repeatedly. If he prefers to just spam Fevered Pitch... crazy as it sounds, but if you keep Counterstance off and have a proper -Physical Damage Taken set, that's actually the preferred TP attack. A Red Mage/Dark Knight helps out for giving some breathing room when he uses Fevered Pitch back to back to back. Summoner is an ideal addition to the mix to cope with a high intimidation rate. Ranger works, too, but is hobbled by the decaying Enmity of the tanks and, as such, the Ranger should shoot little or none at all until the tanks are unable to do damage and its time to kill him.

I see thanks very much for the input. Ive already found a new LS that does abbysea nms so we will see. But Ive actually never invested in a PDT set for monk sadly, One of the only things ive never focused on tbh.
Also the proc rate on this version seems to be much higher than my last trial. Im at 200 left now, But its procing 3-6 times a fight, Might have something to do with these having more life as well though. I'll run a parser next time im out here.

Yeah, the doomed in Caedarva Mire in the pond by the sheep is where I did mine. I did some early work on the doomed in Garlaige Citadel, but the huge respawn time was too much of a pain.

I'd be quite interested in knowing if you do come up with a higher proc rate. Means they ninja-patched something, somewhere. For the entirety of the trials I did, proc rate was less than 5%. Haven't noticed any particularly higher proc rate on the times I've used them since, either.

Actually I'm doing that same path, trial 1180 for Tapian Claws 23 dmg, and 15% def down. Gotta trigger def down on 250 doomed as well and as everyone has already stated the mire is your best bet. I'm a PUP and it's very easy to do this, but indeed it does take FOREVER. What I do is I fight 2 jnun at the same time once I trigger the effect on one I switch targets to the 2nd one so I don't have to wait 30 secs for the def down to wear off. I can imagine it can be harder for MNKs since they don't have any way of healing but chakra and that ain't gonna do much for you lol. Anyways yes if you want it the safe way you'd do Garlaige....or if you got a healer with you or npc healer the caedavra mire is the spot.

I love when retards wander into a discussion. Monk can sub Dancer and heal themselves more than sufficiently. And NPC Fellows cannot be called in Aht Urhgan areas.

Small sample size of about 20-25 mins worth of fightning.
No idea how to translate which proc is the right %. But so far looks horrid.

Melee Effect # Procs # Hits Raw Proc % # Restricted Hits Restricted Proc %
Defense Down 14 512 2.73 % 465 3.01 %

Some formatting would be nice, but lol @ proc rate.

It is pretty sad that players will pay such ridiculous prices for new items. On gilgamesh, the price on poise shoes started around 3m and has already come down to 1.5m. I have no doubt that the price will continue to plummet.

But to get back to Trial 1144, many people have been complaining about killing apkallu. And before I continue, let me say that I found them incredibly annoying at first but they aren't too bad to solo once you get your feet wet. I'm working on a video tutorial to explain how to solo them effectively. I'll post a new thread tonight or tomorrow if anyone is having trouble with these.

Since this is the most recent trial thread...

Finished Dragon Kick+10% 22dmg 60dly Barracuda trial yesterday. 350 in abyssea konschtat, 150 in kuftal tunnel.

It's amazing what Footwork + /sam sub can do. Was really amusing doing Sekka>SpinningFist x2>Fusion on biddybugs for that leg of the trial.

Now that i'm covered for basic damage weapon, time to kill some goobbues... not looking forward to it. With my luck, I'd probably have to hundredfist+drain samba II in the boyhadda tree for every ancient goobue I could get my fists on before the weather dies. Sure there's 3-5 weaker ones further away, but i'm pretty sure the running distance will hurt more than the hp difference.

Wasn't too bad when I did the Goobues trial. From month 6~ish Thunder is pretty frequent (never found myself waitin' more than 3-4 minutes between weather) and lasted long enough to do at least 2-3 before it wore. I was lucky enough to team up with a couple of people and got it knocked out without too much trouble.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but drain samba goes to shit when you use hundred fists.
