Will PC and PS3 players be able to play in the same server? The last time I remember on FF11 was that there were a separation between PC and Xbox 360 server.
Final Fantasy XIV Who will be coming back?

PC, PS2, and 360 all play on the same servers in FFXI. The only time 360 played on a separate server was when they Beta tested on Hydra.
In the FFXIV Alpha and Beta Manual, and in MANY MANY interviews they state the final product will be cross national, cross platform on the same servers.

Oh, that's cool. That mean Matt and others will be able to play with us.

I'm not carving into stone where i'll be playing just yet and I wouldn't recommend it either. For starters, I know that not all Levi folks will join the same server as other Levi folks because there are a bunch of dumb fucks. Also, not wanting to be on a populated server might not be a wise choice since things will be instanced... you don't have to have the worry about 20 people camping your NM at any given time. However, populated servers make it easier to find parties and tend to have more balanced economies. We'll just have to wait and see.

Pre-ordered my CE version as well as the regular one for my significant other...mainly so I can steal his goggles lol.
I'll want to join the "Linkshell" as well. I'm hoping you'll teach me the ropes just as you did in FFXI Heavenstrike
*Willing to learn how to make macros!* haha.

I picked a server I figured would be at a medium population. That's also why I was pretty hesitant to say which one at first. Sephiroth is just going to have a ton of obvious problems though, even though the diehard fanboys don't bother me much... I really just do not wanna see the naming disaster that will happen there. Going for low population would be going for Gabranth or Garland.

It might not be as bad as you anticipate... then again, it might be worse. Heck, Kaindragoon (and Sidra) were the best NA dragoons on our server. I wasn't aiming to join Sephiroth but I was kinda hoping to join Kefka.

i'd prolly just randomly pick a server and see where that leads to since a few of my close friends from XI don't plan on playing XIV at all

Shadowlord represent, yo'. (Was both sent an email congratulating me on my *cough* Unnameable Game Beta Selection *cough* and got access to an alpha phase on my one night off in this 60-hour work week.)
Definitely fun, love the cutscenes, hate the lag (which exists in equal amounts no matter how I change my graphics settings, so I'm attributing it to network lag/programming inefficiency/overcrowding). Will play again in several hours on my one night off of work this week.

So jealous... neither of my graphics cards was enough to run it... so I have to go shopping this weekend...
I've honestly never had a game tell me I couldn't even boot it up without the minimum requirements... that was retarded... oh well... guess I'll just start playing with it next week

I'm kind of pissed. I put in my application for the shit with my old pc, then I build a new one that pretty much makes the old one look like a Ford Pinto.

Yeah.... They never actually used the computer specs as a basis. And the second you entered that new one, it disqualified you from the process.

Curious if I'll get into the beta. Won't really change my mind on wether I'l buy the game or not - I'm pretty much set on giving at a chance anyway - but it would help me determine if I'd like to take a week off from work during the early access period

What?! I entered the beta program twice, once with my old build, once with my new. The new computer I built got me selected.

I don't think so. I'm noticing a lot of the people in the Beta forums don't meet the requirements... so it can't be based on specs lol but then again... a lot of the people that applied back then didn't meet the requirements... and didn't bother to upgrade (guilty)
