With perle ..out and somewhat ridiculessly easy to obtain. Should I still shoot for select pieces of homam gear? The pants are are something Iv always wanted and my chance will come up...soon...maby........if omega's nice. ...or in a few months. Is the total haste of the whole set (13%) + swift belt (+4%) for a whole 17% better than the 12% haste and fast cast (-4 for cast time -2 recast time) of homam? I need a numbers person basically.

You are going to get 1% more haste from mix match vs the Perle set. You will also have more acc on provided that you are using hauby. The perle set does offer more att/str however which can be possibly helpful depending on your situation.

Now if you are in a position to go for homam. Go for it. The legs are the best piece for pld. They give you a 5% haste effect on spells(3% haste + fast cast % = 5% haste reduction on spells). hands/legs/feet carry all the best combos a pld wants, HP/MP/enmity(hands)/acc and haste. I dont know where you are getting 17% vs 12%. Turban+ 3/5 homam+ swift belt = 18% haste and 20% haste reduction on spells. Unless you are referring to the access of haste you have available to you at this moment. Im going to assume Turban(5) swift(4) and the upcoming homam legs(3) is where you got 12%?

What you could do is either get the full set and use it while you work for homam, or use the hands/feet of the perle set with your homam legs. And continue working on feet/hands. Both of which drop very often in limbus.

Iv got a shot at a few of the pieces if omega's nice like I said. I didnt know how the fast cast from the pants worked out with it. That clears it up for me in a nutshell.

That aside, I'd most likely use Perle legs over Homam for Tping.

Iunno, I need to lvl PLD since RDM tanking is null and void, so Perle's going to be my best (And really only option) for a while. Oh and Perle Feet have Enmity, which is pretty cool.

These days? Without going back in time and joining one of the "good ones" before it was good? He's better off forming his own. It's either join a LS that's "full" and you'll be behind 10 other PLDs and "friends who are leveling PLD" or it's form your own, look for dedicated members, and stick yourself at the front of the line. In short, unless you're already in a good LS and already near the front of the line, you're screwed until Christmas time...unless the LS disbands over a petty argument between 2 members over someone's lot being luckier than another.

Moral of this story is, get what you're able to get NOW, then get what you're able to get later when it comes available to you if it's better. So, get the Perle set NOW and use that until you get what you want.

I've been waiting for years for Homam stuff. I'm perfectly content having Perle until I finally get Homam or when something even better comes out for level 85+.

This comment really puts the rest of your post pretty well into perspective, because you obviously don't know what the fuck you're talking about. The hardest part of starting a new LS is training people on what/what not to do. With something as routine as Limbus, you should be able to at least farm an Omega set every third run with a group of 6 people (not accounting for gunpod drops either). A few more people, and you can do one every other run and start selling pieces for gil in short order. Spend your Cruor/Gil on useful things, not this Perle shit.

Either way...and the argument aside with the helm now being show to be 3% haste and not 2%. With the 6% from the speed belt I just got. I get 14% from from the set and 6% from the belt for 20% haste on things. Itll be a few months before I get my homam legs and get a good mix and match going. But for now....that set will do me just fine. As opposed to wearing formally dusk/asker mix. As far as homam goes unless the next update proves this wrong homam is the pinnacle as far as mix and matching goes when looking for HP/MP/enmity and haste. Perle has no hp or mp boosts but does have some enmity a good bit of attack and accuracy. MP has never been in issue for me and I dont see it being such later.

So yea...perle now and when/if I get the chance. Homam

Full perle gives you the same haste, about the same accuracy (25 vs 23~28), but a lot more strength, attack, vitality, and defense (though no HP/MP).

Homam gloves still have haste and enmity, legs have fast cast, so you'll still want them regardless for a casting mix'n'match set.

There isn't any discussion about perle being siituational to a standard max DD, perle wins there unambiguously.

What perle is ambiguous about is what gear you would be tanking in (when you can't pure DD) and that you would still need an alternative casting gear set where you could stack enmity. You should still have perle for TPing in unless you otherwise have maxed out gear.
