What do I have to look forward to

I'm not playing at the moment, haven't for a couple of months at least. Once I'm able to afford to again, I will be getting back into the nin and smn game~ So... magian aside, what do I have to look forward to when I return?

And no, Kaparu, quitting ninja is not an answer!

/RDM at 99 looks appealing now that they nerfed half of /DRK's hate tools

I honestly have to say... nothing. I seriously cannot think of anything that makes me want to continue leveling Ninja except that I like Ninja.

And I think you have that backwards, Draugo.

I don't see how so, before /dnc, /mage while mainhanding a dagger was common practice to solo as ninja. Now with refresh we can mainhand our most powerfull weapon and still have the MP we need, without having to rely on mages as much.

I guess Ninja will end up as a solo only job, and /rdm @ 99 will offer a lot more utility to that than /dnc.

Well, there's more katanas in the Magian trials. Nothing notably exciting, just more of what there was originally. There's Hochomasamune, which is a short little katana with a beefy DPS rating, 10 DEX, and Fast Cast on it. Oh, and it's gold. There's a set of pink armor that you really ought not to be wearing, as pretty much every part of it is inferior to pre-existing options (though 3% Haste/9 Accuracy is nice for those who've yet to acquire Byakko's Haidate). Other than that, I don't remember much in the way of things that really stand out, at least not among those items that have yet been found. The Ocelot gear definitely has some potential, as does the Haste +6% subligar.

Ninja really got the short end of the stick. Dancer has identical Dual Wield to Ninja now and, to put the cherry on it, gets a weapon that enhances Dual Wield (Auric Dagger) and a JSE necklace that does the same. Blue Mage has been given Dual Wield, too, albeit only DW1 at level 80. At this rate, they're going to give Utsusemi to Monk and just delete Ninja from the game soon. I suppose that's a little hysterical, but I seriously cannot find anything to be excited about as regards Ninja right now. All of its unique attributes except Innin and Yonin have been turfed out.

It really depends on what you are doing with it. Tanked Omega last week on Nin/Drk. Which I've done before but we normally use pld/nin for it. Low on #s we we nin/drk and drk/nin dual tanked. Once I hit stun > SE > WS, I had hate forever. Well atleast till pile Pitch or whatever the hate reset move is. Just got to 78 the other and most mobs in campaign don't hit me anymore.

They need to give nin a really good ws. Something that's a real good hate grabber. Jin should be 1000+ on IT all the time. Then NIN would own.

Dude, I've tanked Omega as nin/war, dual tank with a pld/nin as the other. It's not exactly hard to do and not something that has anything to do with...

WHAT NEW GEAR DO WE GET AFTER THE CAP RAISE YO?

Might as well say, tp, ws and tank, sure! Because we do them all. Why would I focus and limit myself.

To answer your question, you get to look forward to being second tier in every category of the game.

Did you just ignore my response to this question? I mean, if you're too fucking lazy to just look at this page, then you could at least pay attention when someone answers you.

I feel the same way, and unless we get Utsusemi: San somewhere between 81-99 my Ninja will likely stay at 75.

I thought you were talking about the job overall, heh. :/ And I'll be honest, I didn't realize the wiki listed new gear on its own page.

I said it's hate reset. btw:

Quote

Pile Pitch: Reduces a single target to 10% hp, enmity loss, Bind, ignores Utsusemi

We straight tanked it the whole time, no kiting, so it's hard to not get hit by it.

Personally, I play a job because I like it, not because it has 100% use endgame. Guess that's why I leveled BST.

Finally getting Jubaku: Ni would be really nice too.

You can look foward to skillchain bonus (don't oue closers suck anyways?) And I'm assuming dokumori: ni and t4 nukes with a 110 base damage or something to lower mob magic attack by 5 if I were to take a guess as to what we'll be getting.

If it's a slap in the face to all the time we've spent on modifying or upgrading ninja, then you should assume it to be possible.
