Hi there!

Im wanting to build a few tanking set's for my drk.

I understand i will need a Enmity, Pdt, Mdt and possibly a ichi set.

Is there any other sets i should focus on building ?

Also what is the pdt and mdt maximum a drk can use.

Any pointers or advise would be highley apprciated.

The most important thing for a DRK is to keep shadows up. It doesn't matter how many gear swaps you have big HNMs are going to hit hard. I get to tank all the time thanks to a small shell with claim skills. I TP in max haste, cast in the same gear and only WS when I have new shadows. Stun is also a life saver on mobs you can free stun, I also use it sparingly on Khim if he get DA happy. At 80 a PLD will struggle to keep hate off you, so bring a lot of shihei.

100% what this guy says, 1 thing i'd like to add that if i have a spare moment I like to keep dread spikes up. Its really a life saver, otherwise just use stun(as taint already talked about) and melee for hate.

Dread spikes is probably one of your better damaging abilities as a tank.

The biggest problem with DS is the casting time and the fact that on HNMs its not a 100% return. While I do cast it from time to time usually before LR its much better to just keep shadows. I solo a couple NMs using zone/nuke strat and DSs is awesome for adding damage between zoning.

It's really shines in low man situations where time constraints can be an issue.
