Kindof venting..

So my old beatup mastercard expired this month and my bank issued me a new one. I go to update my payment details and after putting in my new card numbers, etc, I get..

"The Card Provided is not Eligible for the Verified by visa or mastercard securecode service."

When did SE start doing this?

Update: I have to register my card for some extra security thing with mastercard.com... but Chase, one of the largest banks in the world, isnt listed as an issuing bank on Mastercards website...

Anyone else been dealing with card issues with SE?

Yes I have had problems. SE canceled my membership 2 months in a row then charged me a late fee claiming my card did not go through.

Funny, because the day after SE claimed my card was no good I could charge it manually using SE's own Help online service or whatever.

This month was fine after I sent umpteen Emails, talked to a GM, talked to a customer support agent and threatened for BBB (Better Business Bureau) intervention.

Seems the Sharks are circling everywhere in life. Are you one of those Sharks or are you the Prey they're circling? F**k that I'm the Mofuggin Killer Whale BIZATCH! :P

There's been lots of threads on this. They've been doing it for about 2 years now. Maybe only 1.5 years. If you know anyone on PS2 that you really... REALLY trust though... they don't have to have the secure code of VV. I have one friend that gave out all his info to one of the people in our ls that EVERYONE trusts. He's had no issues since.

If you search for some other threads on this topic, there are other solutions.

Prepaid credit cards from Wal-Mart work IIRC.

Intervention? What are you? High? What intervention could a non-government organization provide? The kind that equates to a silent fart scurrying out of a dying giraffe. You obviously have no idea how the BBB works (nor does any other shit pickle that cries "BBB!!!" at a company). People complain to the BBB, and if the company in question is a member, the company will be alerted that there is a complaint.

That's it.

Kind of like the sound of one hand clapping, right?

The only real service the BBB provides is when a consumer wishes to see if anyone else is having the same concern, or how a company is rated based on the number of complaints.

And by the way, SE is rated A+.

Try harder, 'feng. To use a banal vernacular: "YOU CAN DO IT!"

It's too late, now. Yesterday is gone and dead, and I have failed myself again.

Now I have to go beat myself with a section of hose while masturbating to Sex and the City as penance.

everytime I've gotten this line I've laughed at the person on the other end. They cannot and will not do shit.

In regards to when SE started doing the whole verisign and and verified by visa or w/e, it's been going on for well over a year and a half. They not only mentioned it on their website but in several of the announcements that flash just before you click the "play" button from the PoL viewer. Otherwise if you have PS2 version just update from there.

Can also call and have them do it. It takes like 5 minutes. Tell them you already talked to your bank/card provider and they'll transfer you over. Verify your account info, give them the number -- bada bing, bada boom.

I had to call them to set up my new account for me. Disregarding my phone being a dick and disconnecting constantly, it took about 15 minutes in totality.
