We are pleased to announce that our development team is hard at work on the new FINAL FANTASY XI version update, currently on schedule for an early September release.

This update will usher in the next stage of the level cap increase, as well as the first half of what promises to be a thrilling conclusion to the epic Wings of the Goddess missions.

Players can also look forward to refinements to the Walk of Echoes, additional trials and enhancements for Trial of the Magians, job adjustments, and much more.

Sneak previews of the new content will be posted in the coming days, so keep checking Topics for all the latest news!

Well, now we know that Refresh won't be a RDM main exclusive spell.

Well, I think we were all expecting that anyway. However, it's nice to have confirmation. Especially after the last update when SCH's didn't end up with the ability to use Haste with their job ability for AoE. I wonder if that means they won't be able to do refreshga either.

Is ffxi actually giving us updates at reasonable increments? Is this real life?

SE has always done 4 updates a year, once a fiscal quarter. Do you not pay attention to trends?

You know if FFXIV was not coming out next month, I would totally be on board for this. :(

Don't get your hopes up for FFXIV to release on time

They do...? Maybe they spread them out nicely enough that we don't notice... not shove them down our throats

That had at least 3 last year. Unless you only remember 2, they definitely did not have that few. Up until about a year or so ago they did keep up with updates at least once every 3~3 1/2 months apart from the last one, and on a normal basis, 4 a year. Last year they did slack a bit, spreading them out to 4 months apart, but they had at least 3, and now they're making up for the slack by pumping them out a little faster. This update looks to hit early Sept., considering they're about to (hopefully) launch 14 the same month, they probably want to get it out as early as possible. They still have a lot to cover in these upcoming updates as well, so they want to give enough time to have players experience and enjoy some of the content before 14 is released.

As far as the 14 release itself, I do think they're gonna push it back a bit. I can't see it being released without major issues by the end of next month with the game only being in the third phase of Beta. Though, this is good for me in particular, as I'm getting ready to get a new PC soon and probably wouldn't have it by the 22nd of September. xD Speaking of which, I need to go re-reserve 14 again this week.. <.<
