Download it, play it online with friends, and let us know what you think! This demo is built to give you a good sampling of what the full game has to offer, which is a whole lot of awesome online play (and offline!), all free of subscriptions.

Anybody interested?

We can also confirm how getting online will work with the full game. Each copy will come with a unique, one-time code that will be linked to your PSN Account. When you buy your copy at Gamestop or any video game store, you’ll find the code inside the box. Likewise, if you download it digitally, the code will either be in the digital manual you get, or will automatically flag to your account.

Once your PSN account has this code activated, you’ll be all set to go online in the full game, and your membership is good forever. That’s our little way of saying thanks for picking up the game and helping support the franchise.

We’ll have more news about the full game, including a new trailer, in the not too far off future – until then, we hope you all enjoy the demo!

Free online play until the end of time just for supporting the franchise! The code permanently flags your PSN account for this service.

Piratefags not withstanding, anybody else hyped?? Personally I can't wait! When I'm not home playing FFXIV and instead at work(which is most of the day), when I have free time(which is alot) I'll be playing this.

This September is going to be the best birthday I've had all my life.

PSU was pretty much an epic fail, but I may try this with no online fee.

I sank like 300 hours into PSO when it was on the consoles.

Little longer for me. On the Dreamcast version, I got my HUmar to lv.200. >_>

But I played the demo for this last night, very impressed on how well the system has been improved and a lot of nostalgia from PSO. A lot of familiar enemies from PSO are in it, and the levels seem a lot more fun than what PSU offered. I can't say the voice acting is great, but a lot better than PSUs, but I still like the characters. Also a fan of how they changed the PP system, where is charges back up when used as opposed to having to use Mono(Bi)(Tri)fluids to restore it, and pretty quickly at that.

I'm going to beat BBS quickly so I can get into this game, not to mention the online play is smooth. Try out the demo, it gives you a lot to play for just a demo. I'll give my full opinion after the retail version comes out. :D

I liked PSU, the problem with it was that everyone went in expecting PSO2. Sometimes consider downloading it for 360 again. The 360 servers are still up and going strong/ they finally got that supplemental update that made the game the way it should have been when it was released.

Really, what updates happened to it? Have not been on it in forever.

PSU really was not a bad game by all means, but it could not hook me in the way PSO did. The new additions to PSP2 is something I would not of thought of improving.

http://blogs.sega.co...update-preview/

JP version already had this for the pc/ps2 servers. We/they just got it for 360. Our pc/ps2 servers are now offline. Basically it is an update that kills ps2 limitations by giving the game new mechanics/endgame content that ps2 can't access/ is toned down for the ps2 version only. But depending on how long it's been since you've played, the game was already way different for years.

Did they fix the lag while other people ran online? I hated that so much -_- you would run around with other players and they were jittering all over the place. One of the maint hings that turned me off to the game.

Man I hate that so much -_- the original PSO didn't have that unless you had a major lag spike and this was back then when we were on dial up! LOL and you're telling me that on a broadband/cable connection you can't have stable enough servers that people don't lag when they run? =/ it's such a turn off >_<

That sounds very interesting and they sounds like they are going in the right direction.

But I will probably just play PSP2, since its free. >_>

I am paying for too many accounts as it is! Haha

Why did they have to put Bruce's Dungeon in the demo? It's so easy to do on PC when you can instruct idiots with no idea... but on psp... oh god what the fuck man.

One thing they added that can be good or bad depending on how you like it. Enemies AI are a little smarter than the previous games. I can't keep them in a knocked back position when I twin saber them, they can counterattack now. So been playing on Sword and Shield. I must say the shield and evasion rolls are a great idea. Been playing the demo while on break at work, haha.

I personally don't understand the shields so I don't use them. I just use my Girapit and Signum's Laevantin.

Anybody else notice Resta doesn't heal anybody but yourself, but Shifta buffs everybody? I haven't used Giresta yet because Resta and Shifa are better than a debuff that wears off in 5 seconds. I know Resta lv3 has a horrible range, but standing right on a group of people, Shifta hits them but Resta only heals me.

Still trying to get my Double Saber Replica and Badia Cannon...

When you raise your shield up, it negates a large amount of damage you take, sometimes no damage at all, and if you time your shield right, an enemy rams his head into your shield and causes him damage.

I'm mostly using it because it is new. My alternatives are twin sabers. The demo is awesome though, at least I will have some what of a head start when I buy the game.

Oh, I know what they do. My Kasami Bracer is at full 10 upgrades. I just don't use them. As fast as this game is I don't wanna miss a time limit because I decided to Shield Bash something, when I could've done the Shield Damage x20ish with my Whip, or even more with my Claws.

Maybe when we get retail and there are mobs designed around shielding for most damage. Y'know like mobs are weak to technics or physical damage or ranged? I don't play the import one so maybe they don't exist with a weakness to Shield strikes, but maybe.

Now if we got the Standstill Shield, i'd have to start using it.
