Who are your favourite musicians at the moment, what's great about them, and what are their best songs? Doesn't matter what era, genre or type, post your favourite.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Ellie Goulding!

Think what's great about her is that she's genuine & unqiue.

Also recommend Guns and Horses by her too.

I listen to way too much music to even remember. Top 3 right now would have to be Au Revoir Simone, Marina and the Diamonds, and Wild Moccasins.

Also, going to see Screeching Weasel / run around like an idiot bashing people in the pit tonight.

I listen to my wife (sometimes)
And i listen to a cop if he's got a gun or handcuffs out.

Other than that i occasionally like to listen to Type O Negative's "The Misinterpretation of Silence and it's Disastrous Consequences (Wombs and Tombs mix)".

The title may sound like a sound track to Red Dead Redemption, but I doubt Folktronica would fit in there somehow.

Another quite good song. Don't know if it's region specific though :/

I listen mainly to Vocaloid music but my music interest is in a wide variety of genres. Which is why Vocaloid is perfect for me because it consists of a wide variety of genres.

Awww yea....

So yea, heavy metal for me. If I listed everything I liked I would probably be banned for making too long of a post, if that is possible. >_>

LOL I had the lyrics to this in my FB status like 2 weeks ago for shits and gigs... That's funny you posted it here.

As for me, I'm mostly rock/metal. I'll listen to Avenged Sevenfold, Atreyu, In Flames, Killswitch Engage.. I do like We are the Fallen a lot, like Torak posted. Been addicted to their CD for a while. I love the tracks "I am only one" and "Tear the world down." Also love Incubus, Lacuna Coil, SOiL, Slipknot, etc.. plus mixed J-POP/ROCK on occasion.

You all listen to uterus-WEAK music that lacks awesome guitar-stuffs and pines hopelessly for drums that will kick your grandmother's false teeth so hard down her desiccated throat that they displace her cervix and she bleeds to death from her vagina. I will rescue you all from the abyssal depths of your metal-less predicament.

Let us start with your standard melodic/tech death metal, off an album that I haven't stopped listening to at max volume even though I've gone deaf in one ear and am bleeding from my left eye:

This song was leaked before vocals were added. Trust me when I say it's better as an instrumental than as a vocal piece. Jeff Loomis will skullfuck (to the point of cerebral hemorrhaging) you, your underage kid sister, and your happy-go-lucky dachsund family pet, Skippy, and make you wish that Nevermore's lead singer hadn't suddenly forgotten how to fucking sing right before he recorded the vox for this track. (Trust me, hunting down the final version of this song will make you weep.)

To the person that posted the Alestorm video above (along with the video for an Evanescence side project thingy--you should have your penis severed and stabbed through your jugular for even mentioning Evanescence in a discussion about music, you foul faux-goth), this is the only pirate-metal Alestorm song worth its (sea) salt:

Sick of the metal, yet? Sick of the metal?! You can't be sick of the metal unless you lack virile man-penis of POWER AND OWNAGE. YOU MAKE ME SICK, METAL-LESS WASTRELS! YOU SHOULD DIE! A LOT!!! EVERYONE KNOWS METAL IS THE ONLY FORM OF MUSIC KNOWN TO MAN AND--well, ok, let's shift gears a bit:

I'd toss some Rachmaninov and some songs from OCremix up here, too, but I forgot how many videos are allowed per post and I hate editing my posts/double-posting.

P.S. Machine Head

Almost same reaction any time I see a country music video, only it's more like, "too long, don't care about your dog/tractor/object that you're no longer allowed to stick your penis into thus causing you to write another bland acoustic song".
