95% of their games are graphics.
5% is actual gameplay.

i wonder at what point, gaming will shift back to "who cares how it looks, we want story" ...people who enjoyed survival horror, liked silent hill and resident evil, despite how shitty they looked, but they were still great games...

most of the reason why silent hill was scary, was because it couldnt render very far head of the character, so they made everything super foggy...as i keep hearing whenever someone talks about oldschool survival horror games, the player's mind will always scare them more then what the developers openly show them

The companies have to make the first move, really. Story shouldn't even really be the first focus of game design - GAME DESIGN should be first, before anything else. What's the point of playing a good story? Fact is, you can't "play a story." Well, I guess you could with a book on tape or a DVD, but you get what I mean. The things that happen between each cut scene need to matter more than the cut scenes themselves, or else it isn't a game. You might as well be playing something like this:
