I'm looking into THF now and interested in leveling it again. I wonder what neat subjobs we can play with now.

At least damage wise there's nothing that competes with /WAR...
WAR - Double attack and Berserk. Double attack has good synergy with Triple Attack, zerk augments the efficacy of both. Later on we also get access to aggressor which is nice since we don't have 2-hand crutch acc bonus. We also get access to fencer when we need to single wield and limit TP feed (given that our best offhand makes us feed TP like a monster). Also an attack bonus thrown in
SAM - Meditate and sekkanoki maybe some use in less aggressive situations like HNMs where you are playing at range a lot, but the lack of Hasso makes /SAM non competitive with WAR. No way meditate and zanshin is going to beat DA/Zerk/Aggressor
DRK - Another level of attack bonus but not enough to compete with Zerk. Last resort sucks. Soul eater is theoretically nice in ideal situations but ultimately would be spongy and inefficient

Now if only they'd give thf subtle blow. Nah that wouldn't make sense, thieves aren't subtle at all.

Stabbing shit with a dagger is less subtle than punching people with brass knuckles or stabbing them with katars/katanas.

I think BLU will be the one to make out like a bandit with this. /THF will give them Dual Wield and sneak attack without having to spend the points to set the job ability. As long as THF needs shadows, we'll still be /NIN.

This is pretty ridiculous honestly. If they give thief the same DW level they gave Dnc, I can't see how Thf/War won't be a contender for best DD class in any situations they can SA/TA and are allowed to be without shadows. Same thing with Mandau as compared to other relics. Just a quick rough estimate puts DWIV Thf/War at roughly 33% stronger melee DPS and WS rate. And that's without factoring in berserk, passive attack bonus, or aggressor to be added later.
