Looks like we're getting a spell version of Plaga Scythe. I see a few strange things regarding this.

First off, En-damage is supposed to be based off the power of enhancing magic. How this is going to play out for Dark Knights is anyone's guess. I hope they make it based off of Dark Magic levels instead.

Second, the MP cost, cast time, recast time, and duration. Assuming we get the full benefit of En- damage and it churns out to be roughly +20-25 Damage of Darkness per swing, there's the thought that comes to mind of how useful this can become in the long run. I don't think it'll be as expensive as Dread Spikes, but I have a feeling we'll be given some sort of restriction on it. If not, then awesome. Just don't use it with a Dancer present.

Technically, Dread Spikes would be an Enhancing Magic spell as well, but it's Dark Magic, so yeah. And if the Duration/Casting time aren't too crappy, it'll be always worth casting if you're fighting stuff that isn't Dark resistant.

Ah you have a point about the Spikes. That's great news, then.

Still, I really hope this is treated like any of the other En-spells. Cheap cost, low timer, low recast timer, and decently long duration.

I don't see a reason that it would be different from normal enspell, 3 sec casting time and 3 min duration. It is definitely going to be darkmagic base consider we don't have any enhancing skill, and it only makes sense that enlight is divine skill and used by pld.

With that said, adding 20 to 25 damage per hit is roughly 10% of your DoT, and more if you are fighting something harder, and it should be a 5% overall damage boost with a 50:50 split. The only downside is obviously haste samba, but this is unlike Plaga scythe that you can't turn the effect off, so simply don't use it with a dnc in the party. I know I would love this with my OAT scythe and GS.

In addition, the last thing caught my eyes. SE said they are going to adjust existing JA. What we got that are JA are only Souleater, LR, and Arcane Circle. Arcane Circle was already buffed in the updates before, so that leaves Souleater and LR. I am betting that they are making LR last longer. With dnc and cor and /sam, almost all jobs are going to be able to cap JA haste, so increasing LR to 1 min shouldn't be a game breaker like it would have been a year ago. I definitely see it coming. Any changes to souleater would be welcome tho I don't know what they can do to change it.

I wouldn't say that it would work better on higher level mobs, just because those ones tend to resist more often as well. That said, DRK really does need a boost in the damage department.

I don't see anything being done with Soul Eater. It seems pretty clear-cut as it is. Last Resort should be the one that gets changed.

I'd much rather have En-Drain just to stick with the Absorbing crap Dark's generally known for. Spell-wise, excluding Stun.

Would be great if they made catastrophe to be its own haste past haste cap otherwise same as every other job that's capping haste soon with brd/cor combo if blitzer roll proves to be effective.

How is that really any different than other jobs being at 80% Haste full time themselves USING their own primary weaponskills with sub par gear. I know its broken but so is that.
