So I have a few questions, when I received FFXIII I registered it to my account with the key it came with and got the points. Because I did this will I automatically get Asuran Armlets when I create my character on retail? I can't find anywhere specifically that describes how to go about the procedure and where to enter the key specifically for the FFXIV item.


also:

When Open Beta starts how do we register for it? Currently in your SE Account Management page you can only register a FFXIV Beta Key, will this turn in to FFXIV Open Beta slot under services tomorrow? Which will give us access to downloading the client from the dev-na site?


If anyone has any knowledge and can enlighten me on the two issues let me know!

First answer:

My guess for how this will work is as follows:

Every service you add to your Square Enix account is tied to an account key -- this includes not only the game, but bonus items such as the Asuran Armbands, Onion Helmet, etc.

On the Square Enix Account Management system, there is a section called Select Service. Under this section, you would choose Final Fantasy XIV and click Add a Service Account.

At this screen, you will be able to enter your key. I would advise against doing it right now, as they are still going through maintenance. Wait until just before the game releases before applying this.

2nd answer:

1.Access the following URL.
http://entry.ffxiv.com/
* The page will become accessible starting at 19:00 on Aug. 31, 2010.
Right now they are having issues, so it will not be available tonight. Check twitter for updates. As it looks, they probably don't have the button enabled on the site that will allow you to login.

2.Log in with your Square Enix account and have a registration code issued.
* Depending on the access status, we may temporarily suspend the issuance of registration code. If you cannot have registration code issued, we ask that you please wait a little while before trying again.

3.Register the registration code you received by e-mail on the Square Enix Account Management System.
Click "Select Service" from "Services and Options" on the left menu. Select "FINAL FANTASY XIV" from the services available and then "Add a service account." Enter the registration code you've been issued and proceed to the end of registration.
Add the key in the same way as mentioned above. Done.
