Look at the updater. See what the filename is? It should be H2010.somethingsomething

Search your PC for "H2010" and find the file named as such with ".patch" at the end. That file, which will eventually turn into a 4.7gig file, is where it goes.

Each folder route is different for the OS and system bit, but that will work. Searching "H2010" will also find the nifty torrent file that came with FFXIV to make it easy.

Shit's taking forever to download <.<
On top of that the download timed out tonight so this morning it was still at 11%. I wonder why I'm always uploading and never downloading.

Because there's not a lot of seeds compared to the amount of peers, so many people are trying to download and there's not enough uploading going on.

Vista huh? Time to upgrade bud, should upgrade to Windows 7, Windows XP, hell or probably Windows 95.

Joking aside, there are a ton of people running this, so slowdowns are pretty common.

SE torrent client = 100kb/s up and 10kb/s down. uTorrent = 80kb/s up and 600kb/s down.

uTorrent wins.

Yeah, I should consider upgrading to 7 anytime soon. However, I'm now dling the patches using vuze and it's going pretty smoothly. The SE updater fails badly. u.u

just send me links & advice on exactly how to download this open beta.
im 9.7% on version update files and thats 24+ hours friom SE downloader which sucks.

i have used jdownloader & http://www.ffxivcore...l-instructions/
but the files come as .rar and they need to be .patch
& they say something about not having volumn. so im clueless.
so please help a ffxiv brother out! :D

Mine is good to go now, just have to wait for the registration thing to come up. I don't get why they couldn't let you do the registration at least an hour before hand.

Yeah, I tried to log-in after the update, out of curiousity. It said there was "no active registration on this account" instead of "servers are down for maintenance", so game servers themselves are probably already running.
