True, but at the same time I see a few of the major complaints being around in retail for awhile.

uh...huh? Do you mean "in retail" FFXI? If that's what you mean then yes there are some issues that haven't changed since the old game, but then again it is the same group of people that made XI after all.

I mean by the time XIV goes from open beta to retail version I see a few issues people have complaints about still being around. DCing and failing a guildleave, mouse support issues, etc.

Why do you think there's a beta in the first place? To detect issues such as these and then fix them.

Open BETA isn't the same as the retail version, we're probably even playing a separate branch of the game and they kept working on the main branch and applied fixes to the errors found on the open beta branch.*

*Don't quote me 100% on this but this is how standard game development works. We "should" see some or a lot of changes on release.

well i mean.... retail release is right around the corner. i doubt we'll see drastic changes

I'm betting it'll be mostly cosmetic changes. I noticed a lot of temp textures in the character creation so I'm guessing that will have some changes. If I'm right we'll see a fair bit of extra stuff, more quests, level cap to 50 instead of 30, more recipes for crafting, etc.

If I'm wrong, then the FF online team is in deep doodoo. In my opinion it's just a matter of getting used to and waiting for the first few content patches. I'm enjoying it so far.
