NPC dialogue is a lot more interesting in FFXIV compared to FFXI, as NPCs aren't just always neutral or friendly, but they're finally cursing and threatening properly. It's rather refreshing.

The guy who runs you through the starter quests in Limsa Lominsa has some colorful language. There's a quote from him that's hilarious but that I can't fuckin' remember for the life of me.

Yeah, but considering they've released several language packs at the same time, I'd guess quality control wasn't too thorough before beta started.

True, in XI I think I only seen one NPC that stood out for how often he swore/made threats, however he was a quest only NPC sadly.
