Hello,

I haven't played in years. Since around the middle of 2007. I recently have come back, because the allure of the classic job system & the 'classic' look of the jobs.

I have a L62 BLM, 40 WHM, 41 Summoner, 16 RDM.

I plan on leveling BLM, WHM, SMN, RDM, BLU, and SCH to 80(85?).

Currently, I am soloing goblin pets in Bibiki Bay on my BLM with WHM as sub.

My question is: what is the best way to go about EXPing in 2010?

I have no linkshell(feel free to invite me xD), I don't have very much gil(about 50,000), my gear is average at best(AF, Elemental Staves, INT rings & Custom Hume items, but no +1 stuff), I have a good knowledge of how to create well-made macros, and I have every spell I can learn up to this point.

Somewhere along the way, I heard that you only need to be level 30 to get into Abyssea, and that sometimes parties allow lower level players to be 'key-whores', just sit around and open treasure caskets that drop the entire time. Is this true/plausible? Do they allow such a large level gap for key chumps?

For reference, I'm on Diabolos, but if all goes well I plan to transfer to Odin, because I heard Odin is likely the most populated server.

Any help would be very much appreciated!

If you start doing Abyssea, you could buy gear with your Cruor, then AH it to make some cash. (Look up Perle, Aurore and Teal) Each piece goes for around 10-15k and cruor is very easy to get when you start doing abyssea partys.

Yes, people do invite key bitches, but you need cruor to buy keys. It is possible to open chests with out, but keys save time and there is a chance you might not open a chest. Your exp will start lower then others, but will build up over time.

Being that you're just starting, your best bet would be to find a party that will let you be the key bitch and tell them you're low on cruor but will go buy keys once it builds up.

If you would like to do non abyssea exp there is always level-sync.

So it is true that you can get into Abyssea at 30? Will a player die from area effect attacks at such a low level as that?

Frogs don't have any TP moves, you can leech in Abyssea easily.
