just went to check my two katanas to see if any new trials are up~

the blade ku+10% can be upgraded to ws+10% woot

2-3 hit enchu+1 gets +2 more base dmg

dont know about other katana bc well.. dont have! let me know if anyone else finds out cool new stuff on theirs like the dex/str katana etc ;O

Apparently the Shoes+2 also have Enhances Utsusemi effect, aside from all the other ridiculous stats.
I'm assuming that means +1 shadow per cast, but we'll see whenever someone finally manages to get a pair.

Also, the pants give Accuracy +8, Katana Skill +5, Haste +7%, Augments Yonin.

to get the new AF3 +1 gear you have to get a set of 8 seals for each
example: "Iga Seal: Head" is dropped by multiple NMs in the three new abyssea areas, so you need to get 8 of the "Iga Seal: Head" to upgrade to the +1 version. same thing goes with the Legs and Feet pieces, just with these you need "Iga Seal: Legs" and "Iga Seal: Feet".
now to upgrade to the +2 version you have to get x6 of an item, i forget the names but they drop off the higher tier NMs in the new Abyssea areas that you need pop items/key items for.
most of the lower tier'd NMs only need a party to kill, i've heard 6 bst's can kill most (maybe 4 bst and 2 smn, dont remember the setup) of the "Seal" NMs to get the +1 upgrades.
