Yep, due to the previous game being highly successful, SE is deciding to bring the game back in a sequel. It is not shocker this has happened, but so far it looks like the announcement of Kain Highwind and Lightning is a sign of showing that SE is putting in who the fans want to see. My true question is which system this is going to be on, PSP, or the PSP2? Rumors are spreading that Cid Raines may be Lightning's villain counterpart, but that is not confirmed yet and probably not true, but will keep him in the rumor roster. I assume that characters from the previous title will be back, but won't confirm that either

Current new recruits:
Lightning (Final Fantasy XIII)
Kain Highwind (Final Fantasy IV)
Tifa Lockheart (Final Fantasy VII)
Vaan (Final Fantasy XII)
Laguna Loire (Final Fantasy VIII)

I will update as I see things coming. I personally would like to see the following people appear in the game...

Final Fantasy IV: Rydia. Would be neat to see her using summons to attack enemies, like a quick flash from a summon.
Final Fantasy VI: Setzer. Would be awesome if he played like a sort of Corsair character and his brave attacks would be based on his luck, and a finishing move could be his Slots ability.
Final Fantasy IX: Vivi. Would be a great addition in the magic users department and is one of SE's and most FF fans favorite mage, don't see why we shouldn't put him in there.
Final Fantasy X: Yuna(FFX-2 version) and Seymour. There was a lot of conflict between these two characters and it would make a great combination for hero and villain. Would be cool if Yuna could instantly change her class like she could in X-2 with the Garmant Grid, would make her a very versatile character.
Final Fantasy XI: Eald'narche. Would be a great mixup with Shantotto since they are both short.
Final Fantasy XII: Balthier. Just have to put one of the greatest characters in FF history into the mix. I can see a lot of potential with making him a ranged attacker.

I am sure I could come up with a ton more, but most would not make sense. So what characters do you guys think would fit in with the Dissidia crowd?

One thing I never could explain myself is why in Dissidia they put Jecht as a villain while in FFX he wasn't a villain at all, he was just.. forced to fight you..
The real villains were Yu-Yevon and Seymour.. but since a black silly spider looking thingy wouldn't have been such a character for Dissidia.. hell, Seymour was perfect..!

If they did Seymour though, they would have had to have done Yuna. Jecht makes since due to his rivalry to his son, and his son's original hatred of him. Plus Golbez and Kuja weren't entirely evil either. Cid Raines makes since as he is also just a villain by circumstance.

Well there's now rumors that the article is fake, I will admit I'm surprised how fast this sequel popped up so it could be true.

Anyway, if they add anymore characters I damn well better see Balthier.

I don't believe it is fake, the game itself. A lot of websites have confirmed it's existence, at worst that article is fake, but that does look like Tetsuya Nomura's artwork, so I am still leaning over that this is a legit picture.

Either way my view still stand. Balthier or GTFO. Setzer would be nice to.

Incorrect. Cid of Lufain was the narrator. You find this out in the hidden ending you get for collecting all of the Chaos and Cosmos files. Cosmos revives, and has a short exchange with him, referring to him as Cid of Lufain.

Also, the original Final Fantasy did not have a Cid, except ones that were reconned in later.
