Sadly nobody seems to have any witty lines for him.

The hell is this "Rift" business... it's the Void dammit!

Anywho, heard somewhere that you'll be able to do PvP on this without needing ad-hoc party. anyone able to confirm?

Playing the game right now, and it is really awesome.

Laguna and Kain are really fun characters to play, considering making one of them my main.

Gilgamesh and Prishe are not part of the lineup by default, don't know the requirements to get them, I would assume going through Story Mode.

The new areas and BGM's are a real blast. Love fighting where you fought Promathia in CoP. Not to mention fighting on the Prima Vista from FFIX is pure win.

The AI is a lot better and actually feels like I am playing a person instead of just an AI. Not saying it is perfect and still won't get as much as a challenge as fighting another experienced person. Some of their reactions though are something that feels like someone would do. Like I remember Cloud no joke 4 times in a row hit me and used Omnislash right afterwards. More like sometimes the computer knows how to play cheap, haha.

I actually really like the voice actors for the newer characters. Most of them should be familiar since their voices have been provided in titles before it. Laguna's voice definitely fits him. His voice makes him sound like a light-hearted character, which he is, without sounding overly cheesy. I will also have to praise Kain's voice actor, you didn't get to hear him much in the DS version of FFIV, but being able to hear him say more lines, the voice to me is a perfect match for the character. Giving a deep anti-hero like tone.

I'll talk about the new characters more when I get a full grasp on how they work. Old characters though have some tweaks here and there. Like WoL's speed has been taken up a tad and more abilities that don't require going off a brave attack chain. Firion having an easier time landing combos and given him an arrow shot to add into the combo. But overall, I see most old characters getting a tweak here and there and getting a new ability or two. Very nice though they were not changed to a large extent, so anyone who had a main in the last one won't feel anything too different, only the feeling of you got something added into them.

Not to mention you can convert your save data from the first one to the second one. I love the fact I do not have to level all the old characters over again. It looks like there will be some things you have to re-obtain though, but I am certainly not complaining. I came in thinking I would have to level everyone again.

This is a definite step up from the original Dissidia and would definitely recommend it if you liked the first one. Not to mention after completing Dissidia 012, you get the entire original Dissidia game added in.

Don't forget to get the Prologus on PSN so you can have Aeris as an assistance character. :D

I haven't got that far, but if Lightning is this dull as she is in FF13 I'm so glad I never played it.

Then again she was based on Cloud, so no surprise there.

She is actually one of the better characters of the game. Sazh still takes first place to me though.

Well she sure seems to suck in the game. I thought I'd hated Vaan but he's pretty good. Laguna isn't too bad either, but most of his attacks seem meh outside of his defaults.

Uhh she is actually really good, you are obviously not taking advantage of using her Paradigm system to perform a long series of combos with her.

After progressing further I need to admit the story is pretty meh. Only revolves around the new characters.

At least they went and added the entire original dissidia storyline into it with the revamped gameplay mechanics. But yeah, you're right, the story is kinda so-so.
