I am impressed, this is damn good gear.

17% haste in just 3 pieces is wow!

seems like all my favourite jobs got what they needed. well.. er.. bst and nin. but whatever

i'm assuming it's another 5% buff to dual weild but x2 and enhances would (i hope) give another shadow. it better not do something cheap like lower aoe shadow removal since skill takes care of that. maybe it does the same thing as that ryomasomething katana? who knows

If if let you blink AOE magic like it used to (so I've heard, it was before I joined the game), that would be the most amazing thing ever. But yeah, that should be an overall job fix for NIN and not regulated to 1 piece of uber gear. A lot of people would be pissed, same for if it adds an extra shadow. If it was a massive spell interruption rate down (50% or more) that would be nice, since getting Ichi interrupted is one of the biggest pains in the ass.

But it could very well be an extra shadow which means I NEED IT RIGHT NOWZ!

If it blocked interupts or added a huge interuption rate decrease then this would be crazy. back when utsusemi blocked aoes it was fun and ninjas lived alot more often. i hope this new director fixes alot of what they screwed up in the past. they make a patch for something then make a patc to redo the same mistake without going back to fix issues.

imagine a tire with 300 brand new patches on top of 300 more tattered worn unusable patches >_>

You buy the NQ with 20k in cruor, you get r/e 8 drops in Abysea for each piece to get to +1, then 6 other items to get to +2, that is as far as I have seen.

Anyone care to speculate as to what direction they want us to focus on considering the last 2 updates worth of gear? For instance the 10% fast cast katana with 10 dex on it that has a higher base damage than nq Kikoku. I see them promoting boosts to the elemental wheel, and also boosts to Innin. I am thinking depending on the sub, we can turn into the DD hybrid mage that RDM always wanted to be.

With mirke fast cast body, that new katana and Loq earring we have around 17%? fast cast, which is nothing to snuff at. Combine that with haste in all the other slots and you have a very fast casting/swinging NIN. Put on a max STR magian katana for main hand, sub RDM and you will be flying.

I hope that they add at least 3% haste to the AF3 hands whenever they get to them and something really unique besides haste or dual wield into the body.

This is what I see us being pushed into, anyone else have any speculations?

Hey, stop trolling >_>

After looking at the items they've added in, i think they want to make sure we have enough crit and to keep it high enough to keep damage that is done out of innin to be pretty decent. Kakome and that 10dex fastcast katana are looking pretty awesome and situational... again. Ninja has high dex by itself, but lacks speed on spells and weaponry in comparison to other jobs. Here's what i think.. get your pencil Druago :

1) Lv90 means a lv45 sub which means Absorb-TP from /drk at the cost of a measly 33MP and 2 second cast or less with fastcast swaps.
2) Every 30secs if we cap haste using this gear means waiting for the mob to TP and hit Stun > Abs-TP macro (i don't see drks with any macros like this) which works like WS > stun/absorb tp > WS
3) Nin is getting like +40~ in dex if you wear some reasonable stuff for damage alone. With haste and parts you can wear Store TP and eat meat against mobs in your level range
4) Skill chain bonus isn't so awesome, but being able to SC back to back and MB isn't too bad. That just means you're 1 step away from being a Blu

Again they're giving us back the "here try anything" card, but leaving tanking to a small man thing. The problem is that they're giving us a linear "choice" and we naturally break away from it and go balls to the wall.
This setup i posted along with a curse throwing item (gotta admit it's the only thing that makes throwing worthwhile since curse also slows movement and lowers hp/mp for soloing since most targets CAN be effected by curse).

As for the red mage thing... go see some Quadralic Contiuum darkness closers against IT mobs D: ~oh rdm isn't happy

Did you read the guy's posts? People also doubted nin/drk tanking too until people went out and tried it just as people have tried /brd, /rng, /rdm, and other subs that we didn't really think we'd get something out of.

I can't tell what the spell is like since i can't sub it for some reason at this moment, Who knows what reason that is. My drk always ends up with large amounts of TP after absorbs from knowing how mob tp works and we never know what's what until we try it especially since you never know what was ninja edited or secretly buffed. This thread is set up to discuss new items and WHEN we do that, we find/discuss uses for the things we've been given and with that comes speculation, trial, and errors.

I tell you what, go out on your NIN/DRK and start casting Absorb spells on things over level 70 and tell me how often you actually land the spells.

I'm absorbing fine, is there something i'm missing?

*Edit* Some mobs may resist here and there (3 out of 5 lands and a crest), but we still don't know how absorb TP will be. Some dark based spells work regardless of subs or skill and some don't. I know absorb lines aren't so great, but with enough magic acc you will land some. Funny how you mentioned lv70 mobs when a level range wasn't really given. Ninja has two new ichi and are basically built to allow us safer fighting so something like this on soloing means the mob is probably not going to get much or any tp at all if landings happen and don't resist IF they partially resists (sometimes i can't tell).

I mentioned level 70 mobs because they're going to much easier to land on than a real target, and resist rates are still going to be crap on them.

Not everyone is 'allowed' to take a ninja to fight a 'real target' these days sadly. While i'm not knocking it, i DO know that we have enough magic acc to get a decent rate. There are also some things that we don't solo too well that we could use it on even if helping a lowbie friend for example.

You realize Absorb-TP doesn't actually remove the mobs TP, right?
