Can anyone explain me what is this..? I have recently upgraded my card and despite being superior in everything else, it's inferior in pixel rate of 4%.. does this make much of a difference..?

I have never heard of "pixel rate". But, if its what the name implies, meaning the rate at which pixels are rendered on the screen, then a 4% decrease is meaningless.

I dunno.. it's the last parameter listed here: http://www.hwcompare...n-HD-4850-512MB
Since it states Pixel/ms, it is probably what you suggested..

for some odd reason, 4800 and 4900 series are better than the 5800 and 5900 series... in ability to run the game with max settings, including AO, w/o loss of FpS...

i can only assume its because it was made for DirectX9, where as 5800+ is DirectX11?

dunno.

but yeah, that card is plenty good.
