Anyone know If Brady Is working on a strategy guide?

I won't doubt it, might come a little bit later than the game itself. People buy the stuff, so 85% chance a guide will be made, don't know by Brady though.

If there will be a guide, I don't think it will be from Brady. SE changed publishers for the FFXIII guide.

I wouldn't buy it. Best source for strategy for an mmo is the internet. In my opinion an offline game strat guide is okay since in most cases there's not much content being released at a later date. MMO's are different since content changes quite often. Take the FFXI guide, the first guide had basic info, an update did not come for at least a year later.

Agreed. I got the FFXI guide when the game came out and I was really disappointed.

Well I wouldn't say that necessarily, assuming the guide is well made.
Some could probably help you get a step in the right direction of what to do, where to go, because FFXIV itself does not explain it very well. Having a guide might help you build your character and take advantage of everything from the get go. Yes the internet is a much better source, but some people will probably not feel like exiting out of full screen to check something on the internet.
I am not really for MMO strategy guides, but some people have their own reasons for it.

I usually buy strategy guides for the game art. I'm currently keeping tabs on the two FFXIII collector's edition strategy guides at my nearby gamestop, when they get marked down to a penny (so they can throw them out) the employee will call me and I'll come get them. I didn't even really like FFXIII, but collector's edition guides usually have beautiful artwork. They also usually go up in price if you keep them brand new, sealed, like me.

Thought about this an you're right. A contributing factor regarding my disapproval of the FFXI guide is probably the fact that we didn't get it until it had already been out for a year, so online information was easy to find and solid.
Since we're getting in on the ground floor this time, and the economy won't be established yet, a guide would be a bit of time saver.

I'm on Kay with this one. For an offline game, the guide totally ruins the actual fun of the game with the exploration and crap. It's not like the 90s anymore where if you wanted to beat the game, you needed a guide (To this day, the only time I ever whip out a guide is to play Phantasy Star II on Genesis. And only for a few dungeons.). They nice for all the artwork and crap, but if I'm REALLY stuck, I'm just gonna run to the internet.
Meanwhile, for an Online game... Do we really need Brady screwing up and telling us Lancers take xp away from the rest of the group, and are better soloing anyway? And Holy shit I will kill someone if I see another one of the irritating as hell Brady RP macros... If you're gonna RP, show some freakin originality... Don't use their damn stock examples...

I already see a bunch of promotions floating around for guides, wouldn't be surprised if they come out with something official but eh, gonna avoid like the plague.

Only reason I get a guide is for the artwork. Since if I need help, there's always GameFAQs.

I would still get one for the lulz, regardless of it being rife with inaccurate content. I still have my original Brady guide from 2004, beaten to shit and cover-less, but I still have it.

I printed off my own game guide and made a big ass binder full of crafting recipes and other shit way back in the day for XI, I quit using it about 6 months later due to the ease and organization of information that became available to look up straight from a website.... I still have the binder and most of the information in it is probably out of date now.
I do not think a game guide will be a good idea to purchase. But might come in handy for a brand new player as they are just trying to get into the swing of things. IMHO
