I paid over 30 eur to reactivate my FFXI account to get this... crap..!
It's utter crap..! 15 minutes of slightly nerfed "Flee" effect with a cool down of... 24 f*cking hours..!
The defense and stats are utter crap too.. take my advice and do not reactivate your accounts for this dung people... -.-

I'm not ranting bcause I wanted the effect always on.. but 24 hours cooldown is too much.. at least they could've made them like the effing old Strider Boots goddamn it..

And sorry for the rough talk.. I was pissed..

Have you linked your PoL handle to your FFXIV service..? Then it'll ask you when you create your character..

It's tempting to ask how much you played FFXI. I mean I looked at the shiny items they were offering and familiarity with the company told me, "Not worth it, nothing to see here. Move along!"

Since 2004 I played FFXI for 5 years with an year and 3/4 playtime or so..

You've got me whooped, thats for sure. I played from about ps/2 release til a little after wotg, and logged maybe 400 days between the 3 or 4 "mains" that I went through. If only I hadn't taken so many 6 month breaks...oh well. If I'd spent much more time on XI than I did I probably would've ended up like that guy in Korea or wherever it was that died because he forgot to logout and eat.

/sigh....alrdy paid my 15 bucks and activated my FFXI account, but sadly i guess.. i dont have my In-Game shoes... Thisis what i did so far: i reactivate my FFXI account and reactivated a Content ID, i linked my Playonline ID to my FFXIV service through "Link setting" and created my character, that should be enough to get the item right? or am i missing a step here?

Did you do this all in September? From my understanding your account info isn't updated until you're billed.

the first or second , like in october 1 or second you be billed for septemeber and october, i guess you can acess it then by what hes saying

new point if this si all true activate your account on the first before they bill. that's what i did when i started to play again so i did not play for 2 days and get changed 12 dollars.


I guess you can order to deactave it now and they will still bill you in oct for sept, that why you dont pay for 2 months.

Seriously though, what did you expect? This isn't Nexon, where every remotely interesting or useful item costs you money. Nor is it Blizzard, where they throw outrageous incentives at you to get more people playing. It's Square Enix, where they specialise in promising the world and then destroy your hopes and dreams in one cataclysmic blow.

+X% movement speed would have been nice. A marginal increase at that. In a solely PvE game, according to SE at least, that's an unfair advantage. I can see where they're coming from too, having abused the shit out of +movement speed items in XI to dash across zones in pursuit of Sandworm and Ixion. You were always going to be paying for a gimmick, at best a status symbol denoting you as "one of the old boys" and at worse a vanity item with zero functionality. It does exactly what it says on the tin, you can hardly blame SE for your own optimism.

Actually I suppose you can, for failing to crush your spirit completely. I figure if you'd clocked up more time in FFXI you wouldn't have fallen for this. Well... At least they're shiny!

They're planning to add PvP, maybe even on a large scale. In addition, some abilities that exist right now are meant to be used in Pvp only, according to SE.
