FFXIV benchmark; program stops working

So I've downloaded the FFXIV benchmark to see how my laptop would fare.
At first, I was confronted with the error of missing the d3dx9_41.dll file.
I remedied this by installing Direct X (from http://www.microsoft...&displaylang=en) and running the executable after the install.
The d3dx9_41.dll error disappeared, but now whenever I try running the benchmark test I get the message that the program has stopped working.
Can my laptop just not run it?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Edit: Oh, I've tried running it as Administrator, but no dice. Also apologies if this has been posted before, search turned up nothing.

If you haven't already, you'll want to download the latest graphics drivers for your laptop. Hit up your vendor's website (Dell, HP etc) and looking for the update there, install it and give it another go~

Just did that, but I still get the same error notice that it stopped working.
(Guess I might be out of luck on this one after all? )

I am having the same issue, it didn't do anything for me either...
