Ok first of all I, like others, have waiting for the release of this game. The retail electronic store I work at had the shipping delayed so I wasn't able to buy the CE until today which was BS to begin with. So I install the game and go to start it up and an error poped up saying ffxiv.exe file not responding. So it shut down. I tried it again the same thing happened. I uninstall the game and reinstall it. The same shit happened again. I return the game thinking it was just that particular disk and when I install this one the same thing happens. WTF is going on? Is there a patch or something for this I don't know about? Has anyone else had trouble with this? I am not going for a third attempt on this.

Try updating your video card's drivers. This similar problem came up with people during the open beta, so it is possible it is the same way for retail.

Thank you, that actually worked and now I'm going through the nice 9 hour version update. But thank you for the info looks like I don't have to give up on the game after all lol.

You don't really need to wait 9 hours to update: http://www.eorzeaped...f113c62d6d0a70f

OK now i got the game all updated and I hit the play button and another error came up saying there was an error with ffxivgame.exe? WTF I really am hating this hole process with SE. It has taken a day just to go through all the BS of updates, registration, and billing shit now this. I updated all my drivers what else could be wrong?

Nevermind, I just read a lot of other posts about this problem. I have a little bit older PC, 2-3 years old with dual Nvidia 8600 GTS graphic cards in SLI that isn't supported by the game. SO F***K U SE

Yesh, the game is heavily graphic card reliant. The min Nvidia card was 9800, I suppose its a good thing they didnt skimp out on graphic power this time around as they did compromise alot of things for PS2 users in XI. It sucks, though, cause I'm in the similiar situation in that I cant play the game due to having a laptop at my disposal that simply will not run the game haha. I turned everything on its absolute lowest settings, which allowed me to get through the installation and patching process, but when you try to get into the actual game..yeah, not happening.

Almost makes me wish that PC game manufacturers put information on the game boxes about what sort of minimum requirements your computer should have to play the game.
